Their DVD shows so much of them in concert that I feel like I've been to one of them. How many cameras were used to shoot that long DVD? Seems like dozens. |

Saw them in a small (500 cap) club in 96 on the crash tour amazing. Saw the Chili Peppers at the same club 10 years before. Also amazing. |

Being from Virginia, like DMB, I used to see them play in frat houses in Charlottesville at UVA. It was amazing.
The Doors, wow, that's a good choice too. |

... Digging up the past, I was one of the firstcouple hundred people to show up at the original Woodstock festival, and I was right near the stage for many of the acts. I was really into Jefferson Airplane at the time, and it was strangely wonderful when Grace Slick and co. started their set in darkness amidst a sea of several hundred thousand zonked out and muddied fans and then greeted the rising sun with psychedelic tunes...Also memorable was Alvin Lee of Ten Years After with his extremely fast and powerful blues guitar riffs on "I'm Comin' Home"... I think I was actually leaning against the stage when Credence Clearwater Revival began their set with the hypnotic rhythms of "Born on the Bayou"... Having lost the friends I got a ride there with, I was too busy trying to hitch a ride (back to Springfield, Mass.) on Monday morning to attentively hear Jimi Hendrix's classic, explosive rendition of the "Star Spangled Banner" screaming jazzily in the distance... |

I saw Garcia 34 times, both alone and with the Dead. If I had my choice, I'd make it 35. |

Ella and Louis in any one of their recording sessions. Both have great voices and make sweet sweet melody when they sing together. That's for the "past" concert.
For today's music it would be nice to see Jamiroquai again. Such a lively concert full of funk and dance and good times! |

I heard Hendrix, when he heard Martin Luther King had been killed, did a sublime, 3 hour, blues improv at his scheduled concert that night. No songs. Just blues for MLK.
I would've like to have heard that front and centre.
An early Who gig would have been fun. Maximum R'n'B followed by a good bashing of the instruments. Lovely.
Also, I regret never seeing The Smiths. I had one chance to but was too stupid at the time. |

I saw Miles in 1990 in the spring of the same year he died. He was under a Warner Bros contract at the time so anything he played in concert was property of the co. So, he just basically did bad fusion covers of WB's artists. But still it was cool seeing the man onstage. I also saw Sonic Youth, RHCP, Mary's Danish, Jane's Addiction, and Fishbone in a tiny student bar at UNM in New Mexico. Maybe 50 people at the most.
I would love to have seen Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention live. That would be one of the most amazing things to ever see.
