there are good phone cards , they are not easy to find though. i used the ones called american access. 10 000 won for close to 2 hours to north america. if you can find them, they are the cheapest i saw. if you are near itaewon ever, stock up there.

I get a "Miracle Card" near Camp Walker, in Daegu. For $24 U.S. I get 9 hours calling time to the U.S.. The price is in dollars, because of the military, but they take won and dollars, as a decent rate of exchange. The calls are routed through a Los Angeles, 213 area code.

Has anyone used the phone card from puchonnet,
their website is
http://gdr.co.kr

I found them from a post here.

I keep calling the number and a recording says in Korean the number doesn't exist. I called them a couple of times but their English isn't great and there wasn't any communication even though I speak some Korean! I e-mailed and they e-mailed me back instructions cut'n'pasted from their website. Have you used their phone cards? How did you get through to the number?

If anyone wants free calls to 10 countries around the world unlimited.
please PM me for more details..

I think its best for people who live here.. you can have it in Cell phone form or landline form. 700.000 for the phone on land.. and 1.3 mill on CEll
monthly fee 30.000won.. UNLIMITED landlines free.. 10 countries free..
and half the rate on calling other cell phones through korea...
good for the long termers...
