Never been to a single one.

Can claim that distiction no longer. A wedding party I went to was in the one in Apkujeong. Don't really understand the fuss about them if that's a typical example.

I have been to two and both times they were OK, nothing too exciting although the stuff on the wall is pretty cool.

I have been to the one on the Gold coast(in australia) and Fukuoka(as the Fujuoka dome is a way from downtown and wanted a good burger)

I think wylde recommended that one once for its cheap drinks and decent food. It's handy too if you're on a visa run since it's just down the street from the embassy.

The one in Osaka was walking distance from Namba Station, and the Korean consulate. Don't know if its still there, but they used to have great 2 for one shooters.
I think I have more shot glasses from Osaka than any other city. Laughing

what kind of traveller are you? When I travel I only eat local food - I won't eat western and I won't eat Korean when I'm abroad.

how noble you are. way to be a wannabe native.

I must say HapKi, that is one hell of a list.

Hey, whats the deal with the Hard Rock Cafe in Seoul being closed. Thier website says it's closed! I am so disappointed as I was looking forward to it on my 1st trip ever to Seoul coming up soon. I love Hard Rock Cafe, I used to live within a 10 minute walk of one in Saint Louis, MO and used to visit many of thier restaurants during my military days of traveling and just absolutely love the tourist traps. Serious. Its a Won, Yen, Dollar, Pound, or Euro well spent to get to elbow with the jetsetter crowd while enjoying good ol' American food and music. You get excellent quality in excellent portions and it's not too expensive.

It rocks....

I just wanna spend some Won at one...

not a wannabe native. To me the greater part of the experience of travel comes from eating the local food. Why eat western food or Korean food when i can eat that any time I want.

According to the Hard Rock website-
Quote:
We apologize for the inconvenience, but the Hard Rock Cafe Seoul is temporarily closed. Check back often for the latest details on the re-opening date.

While our restaurant remains temporarily closed - no food or drinks - the Rock Shop is OPEN daily and located approximately 50 yards from the original cafe site. Look for the giant HRC logo in the window of the building at the corner and rock to the beat with authentic collectible merchandise from Hard Rock Cafe.

The HRC Seoul is one of the worst HR's in the world, in my opinion. Over-priced, plus a VAT tax, plus it's overrun by Kangnam poseur Koreans who think of it as just another Western theme bar. Plus it's out of the way.

well yeah, but if you're in a place for a month, there are going to be a few days where you need a break from the native food.

There was some construction going on in front of the Hamilton Hotel in Itaewon that had some HRC banners here and here. I'm guessing they're building where that underground club used to be.

Which HRC's have I visited? Let's see...

Hong Kong
Seoul
Universal City
Las Vegas
Fukuoka
Bangkok
