Yeah, thinking about it. But I'm staying in Korea, so it may come down to a situation of planning to work at another school, re-signing with my current school, grabbing the bonus, and doing the visa run for the other school.
Anyway, from what I'm told (and have read on here many times) the director doesn't have a say in whether he gives it to me, as it's law either way. So I'm *hoping* this will all be moot. |

Pyongshin: definition open to varying interpretations but I meant seeing a Korean regularly in a romantic sense, dinners, gifts and rompy pompy included.
Sickboy: I don't think all the Americans and Canadians on here understand Strine. Fortunately i spent 2 years in Oz so I know what "rooting" is. |

| 6,7,9 don't apply to me. I think. But there are other unmentioned criteria. Been on 5 visa runs to Japan ain't bad, for example. Have also lived on 200,000 won or less for a month or more, on more than one occasion, without borrowing. |

Not so much Itaewon, and not so often, but the money I had stolen from my credit card in one of the clubs would have "propped them up" for quite a little while. Most of my beer budget was spent in Changwon.

Dunno. I can't decide whether I was social or antisocial. I was always up to meeting new foreigners, and met quite a few great ones, but didn't go out of my way to do so on a regular basis.

Had a manager one time, that became infatuated with the female foreign teacher at our school in the sticks. I got along quite well with her, platonically since we were both dating other people... but he got so jealous he called me up at 4am and threatened to kill me. He didn't, but does that still count?

Not to my recollection, (which doesn't really mean no). As far as I can tell from the papertrails of receipts and beer labels, my sunrises usually came in Itaewon and Shincheon... although I closed a lot more bars in Kyungsangnamdo than I ever did in Seoul.
Wait, there was one time after a Dave's getogether that went quite a while. I can't remember if it was sunrise when I left or not though, and it wasn't a 'nightclub' per se. Bobster, Eamo, and Crazy Lemon Girl were there. Ask them? |

actually this pursuit has given me one startling revelation - americans are, more often than not, nicer, more interesting, better educated and less snobbish than canadians.

1) I signed the first contract I saw on the internet and even had some anonymous dude call me and warn me about coming to Korea.....does that count as having a brain of oatmeal consistency?
2) I was the only foreigner at my last hagwon. The hagwon went down the sh*t tube and I'm missing 2 million won.
3) No syllabus...I don't think they even have a Korean word for "syllabus." I do plan my classes though because of the lack of the word "syllabus" in a common household Korean dictionary.
4) Married my Korean honeybunny, but I as sure as hell don't call him "oppa"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
5) Itaewon...guilty as charged. But I go there for the scrumptous Indian cuisine and good live music at Woodstock. I don't go there for the G.I's hands on my a**.
6) I don't have a large sample of friends. I'm the quiet, mysterious type  But I did go on a couple of "blind" outings with some of the posters on this board.
7) Naw.....the hagwon closed down and the director fled to China with my money before I had the chance to threaten with leaving.
Called a Korean girl a "�ݷ�"(sl*t) for pushing me in a hongdae night club. Sweared at ajeoshis for asking me how much I was. Almost got yanked out of a moving car when my husband got in a fight with a taxi driver. Do these count?
9) I had to remove myself out a kiddie hagwons because I started loving carrying a stick, which had my name on it.
10) I love travelling around Korea. I especially love going to the national parks and drinking too much makkalee. Even went to Ulleung-do, which most Koreans have never travelled to. But now I live in Cheongju and find myself making too many trips to Seoul.
11) Yes...spent the whole night in hongdae...usually against my will. The bars are good, but I hate dancing among all those floppy, sweating dancer in the hip-hop clubs...but my other forein friends love it for some mysterious/astounding reason. Hongdae dance nightclubs suck.

Only lived in Seoul for 1 year, so coming to Seoul from outside was the big adventure for me. It took me several trips to figure out I had to remember the subway exit number. Otherwise I'd often come out of the subway headed in the wrong direction. Highly confusing to a country boy like me.

I only got 4...
Mind you, I never lived in Seoul and didn't even go there once in my first year. I did spend all night in some bars in Daejon, but only went out drinking a hand full of times...but the times I went, I went hard.
I seem to have really lucked out with the hagwons I worked at and never had run-ins with won-jongs or K-teachers at all.
I never dated a Korean cuz I met and starting dating a waygookin (whom I eventually married) a couple months in. |

| After 10 years I'm still missing 5,6,7,10 and 11. However, that's mostly because wild yaks couldn't drag me to Seoul unless I need a new passport. |
