I would actually like to see Choi fight Sefo and knock his ass out. That man dances around way too much for my liking.[/quote]

Ray Sefo massacred Bob Sapp, He got inside and took all the punishement from the big guy then when he was spent opened up on him and knocked his big ass to the ground. Choi never came close to that, what was so great about his boxing?...he has a freakish reach but that never came to play during the entire fight, they both fought like crap in some parts of that fight, getting into the ltter parts of the rounds where it's obvious the beast was totally out of gas, choi shoose to stand back and wait for the bell as opposed to striking when the iron is hot. Choi is an average kickboxer at best, his fight that wen 3 rounds against the tiny (comparatively) thai kickboxer was fought a lot better by the thai guy than by choi, and the akimono fight...well the guy was morbidly obese.

Choi needs to get those long legs working...why does he never kick? even Francios botha lets loose with a few kicks now and then...why not choi?.

As to Ray sefo...He has all the goods in his arsenal, Choi doesn't have much of a chance aginst someone with his ability, experience and conditioning. Sefo is simply a far better kickboxer. End of story.

Maybe the Sefo of a few years ago. I don't its fair to compare Sapp to Choi. Sapp has never been a good fighter. He's used his power advantage to back his opponent into the ropes and lay a beating against them. With Sefo and Choi, I think it would be different matchup. I never said that Choi had awesome skills boxing skills. But, he has been effective. He does have the reach to nail a guy like Sefo. However, being a big slow guy it might be a little bit difficult for Choi, but I dont see Sefo charging Choi because nobody really knows his chin. With Sapp, everyone knows that he has a glass jaw.

The only problem with a Sefo-Choi matchup would be the entertainment value. I could see Sefo dancing around all fight, unwilling to engage the giant while Choi would be laying back waiting Sefo to come at him... So.. cancel that. I dont want to watch a boring crap fight like that.

choi's stance is too open, and much to wide. need to work his legs, sweeping from the inside to the out.

If the Bonjovsky-Choi matchup happens, then you can bet that's what will be happening for most of the matchup. Follow that up with some flying knees.

I don't mind the K guy winning, I just hope he doesn't win 1st place. We will never hear the end of it.

I am not hating on Korea. I hate on all braggarts. So I hope Korea gets eliminated in 1st round of next year'[s World Cup. That will shove a piece of humble pie in their mouth, and they'[ll be tolerable by 2010.

Why'd they put Sapp up against Frankenstein anyway? They're both big drawcards, and both should've been seeded against lesser opponents so they could progress to the Tokyo Dome. It just makes good business sense. Instead, they put that unknown Russian through by pitting him against that even more unknown Swede. Confused

I like Sefo because you can just see so clearly how much he loves what he does. It's not all about winning a prize, or even getting respect to him. He just loves to do it for the fun of it. I like that.

Who was that guy who just laid on the mat with his legs in the air as a defensive posture?

I haven't been impressed with Sapp at all, even when Iron Mike showed up with his tuxedo'd entourage and tried to taunt him into a big payday match. Sapp looks like he's about to have a heart attack after thirty seconds of fighting; he's just a huge lump of a man who swings his big slow cow-like (I'm talking a whole cow each here) arms, hoping to connect.

Of the K1 / Pride fighters, my favourite is probably Igor Vovchanchyn. He looks every bit the underdog, but shows more heart than any of those 200cm+ buffoons.

Really, I thought they were all get in there quick and apply the choke sorts.

I dont watch too often, but what I did see I dont doubt the effectiveness of the pose since no one wanted to get near him when he was like that. Just that the audience was treating it like a comedy match.

is this the wrong time to ask if anyone knows of a kickboxing club in the Nowon/Dobong-san area?
Used to be one in Sanggye-dong; that's where Lim Chi Bin (KOMA) trained and coached; but they recently closed shop...

He played O-line in Washington.

Check-out this article. It's a good read on Sapp, though a touch outdated.
