no offense, but "2 packs of flour tortillas, 2 packs of pita bread, 2 things of bagels, and 2 Jimmy Dean (TM) breakfast sausagee thingies" does not a gourmand make.

I was thinking the same thing, but I didn't want to sour the mood here at the Darl Appreciation Society inaugural bash. I'd like to point out to everyone that it was I who first encouraged Darl to post more, over on his other earlier thread. I was into this guy before the rest of you poseurs and bandwaggon-jumpers showed up. Which makes me only one degree less cool than the man himself.

Just wanted to point that out.

I could take it if she ate those. But if she so much as touches my sour cream, the whole thing is off

My most memorable breakfast came from a one-night stand. It consisted of half a cup of chocolate milk and a stick of gum.

Good story, we need more such humor on this site.

I still remember my first K-girl walking out of the bedroom and breaking up laughing at me cooking breakfast in my birthday suit. (NO not frying bacon!!) For some reason she thought this was the funniest thing she had ever seen.....

A lot of Koreans would have destroyed your food as an evil foreign influence.

Or thrown it out assuming it was garbage.

At first I thought this was going to be one of your Rapier style "women should be glad men think they're prostitutes" type rants. Not a bad read, as it turned out.

Nice writing Darl...

Korean women aren't much different from western women. Their goal is to rule you. Are you gonna be ruled?

That was very entertaining and reminded me of little disagreements with my girlfriend over my idea that you can't have Friday night without beer. When eating spicy and sticky foods, I need more than the shot glass of water given me. And the recent disagreement: Trust me, you want me to flush my used toilet paper. You don't want it in the trash can.

She has been quite understanding of these simple Rules of Zen, and I have learned to wipe down the floor before going to bed, to eat rice with each Korean meal, and to call her each night, even when I get home at 2 AM, to reinforce that I still love her.

I recall the often repeated topic of women complaining all Korean men assume they're russian prostitutes and Rapier theorizing women actually like this kind of attention, and if they didn't, they should.
