I'm a little confused: there's two bands called "Air," right? One of them released Moon Safari, Virgin Suicides, 10,000 mhz . . . but then there's another one. Or so I've heard.
Anyway, I like Seb Fontaine. There are some live sets floating around Limewire that are pretty good. |

Why do people think "Air" is house music???
It is nothing like house...more transient beats....
I like Air as well, the Virgin Suicides soundtrack was fantastic but it is not house music... |

Yeah air are definately in the "chill, downtempo" section.
Another good frenchy band is Phoenix, more band like..
In terms of downtempo I quite like guys like Boards of Canada - good beats.
This has nothing to do with the OPs question however concerning house!...
I would hesitate to put ATB, van Dyke or Madison avenue under house also!! ��~~! |

the second Phoenix album is a bit hit or miss though. In fact no, it's just crap. |
