Just had the parents visiting - they brought up Tim Tams; Gingernuts;
Chocolate Wheaten and for those in the know .....some chocolate fish!
Yummmmm |
Sojukettle: Have you tried Kapiti's Gingernut ice cream? It's like Cookies n' Cream ice cream but made with Gingernut bikkies and crystallized ginger. Soooooooooooo yummy!
Are you one of those people who have a cuppa and a Gingernut first thing in the morning? Lots of my friends' parents do that and some of my friends have started doing it too... |

My deep-rooted passion is for the Chips-a-hoy chewy chocolate chip cookies (The red package). I love them more than I love life itself. I love chewy chocolate chip cookies.
A few months back, a friend of mine took me to the Moyer Community Center on YongSan Base and they had these thick, rich, chewy chocolate chip cookies. I mean, I was savoring each bite like it was a wild sensual dream full of ecstasy and wonder, truly extraordinary!!~!
But once the cookies were gone, I was heartbroken and I never truly gotten over it (really!!)
I tell you, if I had a choice between having a one-night stand with Miss Korea or eating 2 packages of Chips-a-hoy chewy chocolate chip cookies; Sorry, Miss Korea, you're out the door.

Yeah, but the question really is, do you loser Americans have to pay for your cookies or can you get them for free? |

I think only the american military get 'em for free. And they get so many of them that they have a habit of munching on 'em instead of paying attention to who's walking in front of their tanks...... |

Haven't tried that ice-cream but it sounds fine.
Hokey Pokey was always my favourite.
Gingernuts and beer in the evenings watching rugby is the best.
Mornings are for sleeping until the last moment before having to rush off to work.

Wow, never thought I'd be called a racist over cookies. I guess no comment is safe on this forum. I love it! Thanks for the insight everyone, guess what though, I don't love cookies, I just like them a lot. |

NO KIDDING!!!!!~!!
One time, when I was a soldier, I was munching on some cookies and I didn't pay attention to the 5-ton truck that was barreling toward me. The driver stopped and stuck his head out the window and said; "Get the
%^&* out of the road, you garbage head!!!"
Until that time, in the many years I have spent on this god-given earth, no one, I mean no one had ever called me "a garbage head" |

I for one think the OP should head back home to Mom and Dad's basement. Expressing a preference for cookies is indicative of an immature nature not yet ready to take on the variety of cultural experiences Korea has to offer. Pies, cakes and muffins are just as good as cookies. I won't say anything about those fish-shaped thingies you buy on the street that are filled with red bean paste because I can't think of the name for them. Chocolate chip cookies, peanut butter cookies and oatmeal cookies have their place in any well-rounded diet of junk food, but to limit oneself to only cookies is just ridiculous. I've rarely heard anything so juvenile.
PS: Welcome to the board! (Recent discovery: 'egg cookies' are the same as vanilla wafers. They come in a box or bag with yellow chicks on it.) |
You too are missing out on cultural experiences in Korea by wasting your time replying to my immature thread instead of eating kimchi and drinking soju |

You are half right. I don't eat kimchi. (I like living dangerously.) But I've become a whiz with chopsticks since I moved here, so my IQ has almost doubled.
Am anxiously awaiting your next controversial stand. In favor of city parks? Reading to little kids is good for them? Umbrellas can be useful on a rainy day if used carefully and not aggressively? |

SARS didn't get me last year and (so far) avian flu hasn't snagged me. But I'm skating close to the edge. I drive a car in Korea. I do strap bags of kimchi to my front bumper. Maybe that explains my survival to this point. As well as the strange looks I get. |
