well now you can hardly cry foul if you meet a girl in church and she turns out to have slightly higher morals than you were hoping for.

Expanding a bit. Fetishizing past gfs and female friends. I got some terribly pretty ex gfs and female friends. I'll idolize them over a race queen pin up.

My friend once took this workshop on how to build your self esteem. It was all women. She thought that was curious. Turns out that year they banned men from the workshop. Turns out men would come not because they were in need of tools to increase self esteem but because they felt it was a great way to meet women down on their luck and easy marks. My friend commented of the women there "wow, they really had self esteem problems. Coming out of abusive relationships, drug addictions. I just felt a bit bad about my over bite." |

hah- that's classic, reminds me of the bit in "Dogma" where Jay and Silent Bob hang out at an abortion clinic- "because this is where all the sluts are" |

Or the guy in high fidelity picking up women at the single mother's meetings (because compared to their exes who jilted them he looked great by default  |

When I was in Catholic high school there was this thing called a "COR weekend". People were always trying to get you to go on a COR weekend. COR stood for "Christ and Others on Retreat". It was your classic brainwashing session. A whole weekend you were deprived of contact with the outside world, clocks and windows were covered so you had no idea what time it was. You were woken up at random times. At the end of all this you were given the Great Secret! Letters from your mom and dad saying that they loved you. Oddly this came as a huge surprise to some kids. "My dad... loves me?"
Yeah well don't believe everything you read in print, kid.
In the middle of this, emotions flowed freely and kids were encouraged to be rather tactile. Not talking like finger banging each other or anything. Just a lot of hugs and holding each other for emotional support. There were always these rather loserish guys, band geeks mostly, that seemed to be regulars at these COR weekends.
Why?
A chick deprived of sleep and sensory cues apparently was an easy pick up. |

Sounds like what they call "Thirteenth Stepping" in AA - hitting on the newbie chicks that come into meetings fresh off the bottle/out of bad relationships/low self-esteem issues/(insert hangup or neurosis here). |

UB does not allow you to use the chat function for free, and hasn't for several months. Men used to be able to get dates for free, because girls could write mails (if they signed up on the English side only, btw) even though guys didn't pay. Now that they have built up their database of profiles, it is not free in any direction. |
