Correct me if I am mistaken(if perhaps tax laws pertaining to foreigners has changed over the last year and a half) you should be tax exempt(of korean income taxes) for the first 2 years(in Korea).
Has tax been added to your pension contribution/deductions and medical(50% health insurance paid by you)?
I've never worked in the private sector(hogwan) before, therefore, be wary of a boss' attempt at creative accounting at the local level(non-enron) at your expense just because they "think" they can get away with it. |

| Americans are income-tax exempt for the first two years. Other nationalities I'm not sure. |

| Americans are exempt for 2 years unless its a private school or language institute...which hagwons fall into. For those types of schools, americans are exempt for the first $80,000 earned before having to pay US tax. However you need to file every year no matter what, Being exempt from paying is not the same as being exempt from filing. |
