Last time I wanted to go to Rayong but never got round to it. it can't be more than a 2 hour bus ride from bangkok max, and is probably the closest beach. |
Rayong seems to be a province with over a 100 km of coastline. Where exactly is that beach in the pic?
Thanks for the heads up... i'm researching the area and it seems to offer the less busy less commercial aspects of r&r on a beach in thailand. |
Not sure, but the area seems to be blessed with miles of excellent beaches. Bus ride longer than I thought, but when you've just arrived in country a bus ride can be an interesting and pleasurable exp.
Getting To Rayong....
FROM Bangkok
By BUS : There are buses to Rayong (87 Baht, 4.5 hours and 101 Baht, 3.5 hours A/C) daily from the Eastern (Ekamai) Bus Terminal and North & North-Eastern (Mo-Chit 2) Bus terminal (104 Baht) or you can take Bangkok-Ban Phe buses to go directly to Ban Phe (via Ban Kon Ao) with only 20 Baht plus.

And just look at the beaches! Sure to find a secluded spot there.

ramphuen beach.
Rayong beach.
Another place i'd be keen to explore is trat, heard good things. It would probably fulfill all your requirements and is near the island of Ko Chang.
-however its a 6 hr bus from bangkok.
