I don't like the idea of being photographed 600 times a day just going about my business, I certainly don't want to be tracked. But if they removed these cameras from the buses and tube I wouldn't feel as safe.

Typical... While in Korea... Maybe you should take a few self-defense lessons, because if someone's gonna jump you I bet they wouldn't smile for the camer 1st... maybe then they'll implant a camera in your forehead for you, you'll probably be the safest then ... |

Cool.

Perhaps those who have this concern can explain how this affects civil liberties, because it's not clear.

Sounds good to me in the meantime, but the long-term goal should be to fight crime and terrorism by ending prohibition and ending Middle Eastern oil being the lifeblood of modern civilization.

I agree. I also think references to George Orwell are tiresome, cliched, pejorative and unhelpful. |

Listening devices and hidden cameras are being used by police in London to help infiltrate gangs of youths.
Detectives hope the hi-tech gadgets - which can be placed in cars, homes or on street corners - can help yield vital intelligence.
The technology is already deployed in Lambeth, south London, where a number of teenage gangs are based.
A police spokesman said the devices are used to gather information but any evidence is not admissible in court.

*yawn*
Yah, Orwell. What did he really know, eh Spinny?
That reminds me, is 1984 still even studied in high schools?
What of Animal Farm?
Cliched, and frequently quoted ... because it's so far from the truth.
DOUBLE-PLUS GOOD !!! |

| I've always thought that authoritarians such as Hitler and Stalin would be placed in hell under the supervision of conspiracy theorists and the uber-paranoid. |
