I knew that and that is why I ignored the blatant misinformation in one of the earlier replies. I know several guys who have had this done with no problems, unfortunately I don't personally know anyone who has had it done here in Korea. |

Will do, but I'm waiting until this one pops out to make sure it's healthy and all. |

My wife is talking of either trying for a second child soon, or snippity snip...
I am not looking forward to it, but the brother in law will have it done soon, so I guess I will keep an eye and ear open and see how his BOYZ are treating him in the near future...

Vasectomy can be reversed. The procedure, called a vaso-vasostomy is microsurgery, done in an operating room.
Vasectomy Reversal

Concerns that vasectomy might increase the risk for prostate cancer were raised in 1993. Two studies published in that year suggested a slightly increased risk of prostate cancer 20 years following vasectomy.
The design of these studies had significant flaws and subsequent studies designed expressly to look at the question of prostate cancer risk following vasectomy have found no association between vasectomy and subsequent development of prostate cancer.

No. A friend of mine convinced his wife that there would be no grand finale and used the opportunity to reenact his favorite porno scene.
You still get a river, but no more swimmers. |

I had it done in Korea about two years ago. At the time I paid 20,000 won. The worst part about it was the guy shaving my sack with a bare razor, no shaving lotion or anything.
You know how it feels about 5 minutes after you get kicked in the balls? That's how it felt for about a week. A small price to pay for never having to deal with condoms again. |

There we have it straight from the horse's mouth. That would be enough for me. Condoms don't sound that bad to me now. There is also other birth control (ie - the pill which when coupled with a condom are quite effective). Besides, it's not ALWAYS the man's responsibility, although it is very PC to make it seem like it is. |

IUD's are popular, too.
Dutch, you are a tougher man than me!
And hey, you may still get the flood, but the flood would have to be less if there are no swimmers, right? And would it be a cloudy day, or forever clear skies? |

hmm...I guess just siding with Hack was enough to get my post deleted...I am a little disappointed
As for the operation and cancer...vasectomies are fairly new to the game...give it another 20 years before any conclusive tests come in...now, you may say...yeah but that's 20 years later...it will come quickly enough(pardon the pun) if it affects you.
Someone else can link this...but it goes something like this...of all the cases of prostate cancer, 90% of the men have been circumcised...be careful...this is not saying that 90% of circumcised men get prostate cancer.
So, today medical science is selling vasectomies...of course they are going to say it is $afe...you can just hear the cash machines churning.
They are still selling circumcisions...the information is out there...but you won't here it from your friendly neighbourhood doctor.
For the mods...if you are going to delete this post...at least send me a pm as to why...a heads up sure would be nice...then I wouldn't need to waste your time(or mine) with this kind of post. |

I can't disagree with what you say, but I am wondering if you advocate your wife getting her tubes tied instead? |

I would like someone to try to find a link to prove this little 'fact' because everything I have read trying to find a link says there have been no proven studies that show any link between circumcisions and prostrate cancer...and no mention of this 90% of prostate cancer victims being cut...
While you are humming...do you just pull these things out of thin air...?? |

hmm...well...good question Scott.
and laogaiguk: I don't advocate these kinds of operations for anyone.
I did study naturopathic medicine for a few years...that figure was in one of the "hard to beleive but possibly true...western medicine is not as wise as you think" books...at the time I am certain it was not a proven fact...I don't think I said it was a fact...but good call...I will be more careful in the future. (If you are really interested Scott...what I remember of this book...it was written by a layman...actually a fairly young homosexually oriented male...The book was called "Uncut"...or something like that...only now...when you call me on it...I can't find it It described in some detail the horrors involved with circumcision...one of them being this high probability of prostate cancer.
Just the same...I stand by the sentiment...these kinds of operations will come back to haunt a great percentage of those who have them done.
All this being said...my views of health are pretty far off the beaten path...and will probably be shunned by the great majority here...so I will be more careful to share more accurately in the future.
Now...where is my guitar...I have some humming to do. |
