I just got emails from Play-Asia saying both orders I'd place shipped today. That means Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter, Battlefield 2: Modern Combat and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion are all on the way! (Along with a Play-n-Charge kit.)
I'll post impressions of all once I've gotten them, which should be by the end of the week. |

My mates been nattering about his 360, he mentioned something about remotely hooking up to windows and being able to run all his d/loaded tv and movies.
Any info on that? I'd love to see them on a tv instead of my mini lappy screen. |

It's too bad you sold your Xbox, then. The Transcode360 method your friend's talking about is utter garbage compared to Xbox Media Center running on the original Xbox. |

And what a shame, really. They just keep churning out great new titles for the "old" console (e.g. Far Cry Instincts EVO, Earned in Blood, TOCA3) and there is that nice back-catalog of games available via torrents. Not to mention its use as a media center, which kicks ass well above and beyond the call of duty.
I'm sure all those folks who already jumped ship will be kicking themselves in the ass in the near future.
Then, there are those with both...lucky bastards... |

Yup! I've been checking out the classes and seeing which ones work best for me. I get my best scores with Support and Spec Ops. I've been teaming up with a friend of mine (using a private chat channel since the in-game one is so borked-up) and we make a nice support/sniper duo.
I just checked UPS and my BF2 order hit Tokyo this morning. With luck I'll be playing it tonight.

You know it! I won't get rid of my Xbox, even if the 360 gets a full-on media center (allowing Divx videos). I have taken to using the 360 for music since I put Connect360 on my Mac mini.
Full access to all my music, podcasts and even internet radio (provided the stream URL is saved in a playlist). |

I picked mine up yesterday, so hopefully will catch you on the same ea server sometime this week.
For the demo map, I thought sniper was good and support has good weaponry. I did worst with assault. The in-game chat is a mess and the lack of a lobby isn't great either,,,,,but the game kicks ass. |

I logged a couple hours in BF2 last night (and will be back on again tonight in a little bit) and I'm digging it. It's great to have more than one map!
Oblivion and GRAW arrived today, but I'm holding off on Oblivion for a couple weeks. Everything I've heard about it says how much it really sucks you in, so I'm going to save it for Golden Week (Japanese holidays at the beginning of May), when I've got 9 days off and can really get into it.
GRAW's probably going to hit the drive tomorrow.
If anybody's been on the fence about getting a 360, now's the time to jump in, especially with the Asia-region games going for $40 each. I've pirated tons of games for most of my systems, but I'm finding the 360 (and its games) to be well worth the money I've been spending.
Heck, I've picked up 4 games in the last 3 weeks. |

Not yet. I'm decent, but not out to join one just yet. I've heard it can be a serious pain to get the medals once you're above the starting rank bracket, so I'm going to work on getting some more of those for a while. My points per hour is high right now, so I'm not too worried about it dropping dangerously low.
They really need to get the voice fixed, though. The only way you can play effectively is to run a private chat with another player and coordinate that way. It works okay, but if you've got more than one friend playing in the same game, somebody's going to be left out. |

I finally got into GRAW this weekend. Man, is it worlds apart from BF2.
The play style is totally different, and until I adapted I died a lot. A lot! Visually it's much more impressive than BF2, and it's a very different experience. The single-player in BF2 is okay, but nothing spectacular. GRAW really makes you think things through and plot out your strategy. No health-packs or med stations makes for a much more cautious gaming experience.
I've run though the first 4 missions (training + 3 real ones) and am really liking it. Finishing a mission is a rewarding eperience, especially if you died more than a few times trying to pull it off. Beating one without dying is immensely satisfying.
Oblivion's still in the shrinkwrap for now. After this week I'm off for 9 days (gotta love Japanese holidays. ) and will open it up then, as I'll have a lot of time to devote to it. |

Yeah, that was strange. When I was playing with you last night, there was absolutely no voice support at all. Very frustrating.
"Decent"?? You truly kick ass, my friend. |

You said you ordered it from Play-Asia, right?
I ordered it from them about 4 days ago now, and my order status says it may not ship til May 8... I know that's not too long (although I'm pretty anxious for it); I'm just wondering why... Did you have to wait a couple weeks for them to even send it?
Now that it's ordered, I hope the thing doesn't start suddenly popping up all over Yongsan today. Ha... Oh well, Oblivion is keeping me plenty busy. |

Do you have any idea where I can find it? I've been to Yongsan twice, and they haven't had it (might just be bad timing), none of the places at the Nambu Terminal Electronics Mart had it, nor E-Mart or WalMart. I pretty much gave up and just ordered it online.
It's not that I'm impatient so much as it is that this game looks like it kicks a lot of ass. |
