now that that's clear, if they're not gonna give me my salary, i wanna walk. but if i walk, can they sue for damages such as lost profit from cancelled classes, defamation, etc. that's what i'm worried about.

Ok..sorry about the confusion. Since you are not on an E-2...no LOR required. Can they sue you? Not likely. Can they make trouble for you? Possible as they can delay you obtaining another visa (perhaps).
