It's illegal to make tattoos or to have the equipment if you aren't a certified doctor. It's slightly more legal to have tattoos on you, but there are limits and it's unpredictable.

interesting.
how do you know this?
i ask because there are two tatoo parlours with big signs near my house here in Daegu...and the artists surely aren't doctors. |
I wrote an article about it and interviewed a couple tattoo artists. If there are tattoo parlours in the open in Daegu, I'd really like to know. Maybe the police have their hands in the cash register or something.

Worst; some kind of New Age, touchy feely, open yourself up inside emotionally kind of 'awareness center for better relationships: with your spouse, friend, co-workers, planet-sharers'.
Best; driving school where students aren't volunteers. The courses they pay for themselves are mandatory. And they are directed to your driving school by the police. |

the miniature golf course [omitted] requires a big area and of course you have to build the course.

It doesn't have to be outdoors. Most "holes" are pretty narrow, so if the course were designed efficiently it would be easy to maximize a small area (like an office space).
I think the major roadblock to this is cultural. If Koreans encountered a situation in which they had to wait for the golfers ahead to finish a hole, would they; wait their turn, just start playing the hole anyway, skip past the other golfers to the next hole, or park their hazard light flashing car on the 7th hole? |

Interesting thread.
A lot of what others think are the worst ideas I think are the best and a lot of people seem to think putt-putt golf is a potential goldmine..
I will let everyone know how my own business ventures turn out..
hopefully it will not be an expletive filled rant about how I should have
run with the mini golf idea |

I heard this from a friend yesterday. She worked as an employment counselor in Canada.........
So
Best: employment counselling service for lost efl-ers who don't know where to go next.
Worst: actually expecting to get paid for above service.
This is not a dig at the service per se...just at the potential clientelle. |

| Is anyone actually serious about the mini-golf plan? If it was a bunch of people working together to make it happen, I bet it wouldn't be so hard to pull it off. It would be a decent project. |

In it I brought up the mini golf idea.

Mini Golf (Putt Putt Golf)
Koreans love golf, yet its out of reach for most middle income families. Plus, those who do 'play' the game just spend hours at the green-netted driving range hitting drives off the tee. No short game or putting practice at all. More Mini Golfs around could tap into both these markets.
Plus, Koreans need more things to do as a family. |
Hardly groundbreaking stuff, but at least the idea was my own.
Come on Merlot, can't you at least wait a month before claiming others' ideas as your own? |

I think its a great idea, in that "back of my mind, if I had the time/money" kind of way. If anyone makes it happen, I want lifetime membership. And a hole where you have to hit the ball into a dragon's mouth, past the windmills blades, and across a narrow bridge with water underneath, called "Hapki's Revenge." |

best idea: make korean food, sell it with a western name. they will think it tastes good AND is western...
worst idea: open a truth in history museum. showing that the Huns were not Koreans, Koreans did not invent the Chinese language, the Korean War was not fought without the Americans, the world does not care about Dokdo and the name of the Sea of Japan, and Japan did not change Corea to Korea... |

Please let the record show that I wasn't the first one to think of this obvious idea. I admit it. I constantly scan this board stealing ideas and posting them as my own. You're on to me. I guess you have to get up pretty early in the morning to pull one over one you. |

Ah but why pay when Koreans believe everyone on the subway or the restaurant are there to babysit their kid for free? |

I've always meant to ask on Dave's if there were any miniputt places. I'd gather there isn't. There are driving ranges. Anyone know how much one costs? |

| I actually came up with the idea well over a year ago, but if I'm the first one, I'd be very surprised. More important is who steps up and does it first. |
