If anyone PMs you and wants to BUY this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to spend an indefinite time period with an indefinite number of teenage boys in a tropical country during July or August, please send their names to the child abuse/pedophilia centre in Canada (or whatever country they are from) Smile

If you go to Mindanao...its pretty safe. Just depends on where you go...just like any other country. I would not go to Los Angeles in the US,,you would ge mugged by gangs. I would not go to certain parts of England for the same reason. I have met a lot of muslims in Mindanao and they do not cut peoples heads off. Don't fall victim to the paranoia of President Bush. Shocked

I figure you are trying to scare off the competition and keep the price down, laogaiguk. Bids are dribbling in....am expecting it to grow to a trickle. Get your bid in SOON!

Mr. me, sir,

Quote--pretty safe--unquote! Shocked

Am I mistaken in believing there is an active separatist/Islamic movement kind of thingie going on in Mindinao? Like maybe not hordes of masked rebels hijacking buses everyday, but....I don't know. Active.

My standard for safety is Seoul. When I lived there I could stagger home drunk at 3 in the morning and only worry about finding my home. Armed rebels were not a concern.

You are right there is a Muslim extemist group on Mindanao.

Here's the latest from Lonley Planet:
Travellers are advised to avoid most of Mindanao, an island group in the southern Philippines, especially the Zamboanga peninsula, Basilan, Tawi-Tawi and the Sulu archipelago, where ethnic and religious animosities fuel ongoing violence. Abu Sayyaf, a Muslim extremist group who have claimed responsibility for attacks on foreigners, operate out of this area.

Enjoy your trip!

As I have stated before...there are places you can go to and places to avoid. Many catholics and muslims co-exist together in Mindanao without animosity toward each other. I lived there and travelled around....never had a problem at all. I have also lived in Colombia where guerillas control most of the country...you just have to know where to go and not to go. I would agree that Korea is probably the safest country I have ever visited. I just left my car unlocked....and I'm not worried! Shocked

You're kidding...

*Click* Note to self; "Al-Qaeda" is spelled A-L-Q-A-E-D-A, memo George.
*Click*

No wonder we can't find Asama Bin Ladan.
