| WARNING: persimmons can be deadly. Some people are allergic to them and will die within hours of ingesting one. I think the ratio is 1/10.000, but higher among caucasians. |

Thanks muchly for the pumpkin info. (And I just used metric in my question so I'd look sophisticated and internationalized. All I know about it that 500g is about a pound.) |

As one poster suggested, I left the hard persimmons in the freezer overnight. Peeling was easy enough. Cut 'em up but didn't have much luck with mashing them. They were not significantly softer than before. I ended up chopping them into small pieces.
The bread tastes terrific. The recipe I used said to bake the bread for 75 minutes. This is too long for my oven. I'll start checking for doneness at 60 minutes and see what happens.
Anyway, a very nice addition to my baking repertoire! |
