All of this advice about diet and exercise is good, but a real case of CFS is not simply tiredness. Having it takes a lot of patience. Some days are better than others, and some you cannot get out of bed. There is a lot of weakness and muscle ache involved, not to mention light headedness and bad concentration.

Yeah, I had it for about a year and a half, in the '90's. It started with a really stressful time in my life, and then a flu-like virus that refused to go away.

I had a good doctor, and we tried absolutely everything. What really helped me was diet and medication. It is really hard to get the medication right. I ended up with something that was a mild stimulant. It helped me get enough done to get by. The symptoms seemed to go away gradually over time.

Most people who have not had this or another chronic illness do not really understand, and expect you to just "get over it", eat better, get some exercise, don't be depressed, etc.

Hang in there- it does go away. I learned a lot from the experience. I am really grateful for my health now, and take things such as health and energy a lot less for granted.
