well, some people on this board think Koreans see us all as a bunch of rockstars, cool dudes / dudettes with super freedoms and an infinite supply of awesome. They think Koreans see us as the slick gurus of independence and individuality, as the new superhumans that Koreans all want to become. They think Koreans all love us.

Park Jiseong plays for Manchester United, doesn't he? And he is great. He's getting worked into the rotation there as they learn they can trust him to deliver... he's not a half-ass player at all. Park Chanho on the other hand... he crashed and burned as soon as they sent him to Texas.

i dont really follow soccer, so i am sure you are right about Park Jiseong, that is just what a few friends said. but yeah, Chan Ho Park... well, what a waste of $65 million dollars.

Park Ji-sung STARTS for ManU, which is hardly common. He has gotten a lot of fans in England and his coach also has complimented him on many occasions. No, he's not Ronaldo but he's only 24 and still developing.

C'mon...no one on this board believes that if they've lived here for any time over like 2 days!

To the average Korean, the simple , self evident fact you are here, must mean there is something wrong with you.

I get embarrassed to be seen carrying bread in Korea (i'm not much of a bread eater, but I know the moment they see the foreigner with the bread I am confirming their theory and i hate doing that).

Same reason why I almost never eat hamburgers here. I hate eating at mcdonalds or even carrying home takeout.

I once got into a heated debate with a K friend's family about rice vs. bread. I said that my whole wheat bread was more nutritious than their white rice. I compared their rice to a bowl of sugar and the gloves came off. Their ignorance of nutrition overwhelmed me and I just laughed it off.
