Good question, and it might have something to do with the torrent site I use (I use Pruna). I figure that one torrent site is about as good as another and it still takes weeks to down some of the obsecure movies I want (I had my computer on for a month and still didn't get all of A Clock Work Orange). After a while, the cover is essentially a beer or two for a butt load of movies and programs.

I am impatient, and it bothers me that my media center computer makes so much noise. Does anyone know any sites that teach how to clean the insides of the case in a good but harmless way???

I am also looking for a good top of the line keyboard and mouse (wireless) for all the writing that I am doing and time I spend on my computer.

I read that the Logitech (http://davidbau.com/archives/2005/05/21/worlds_best_computer_keyboard.html keyboard is worth a look. I didn't find it at Link-Os at COEX. Anyone see Logitech diNovo cordless desktop keyboard or better anywhere in K-land in a neighborhood near you???

I just don't want to make a trek to Yongsan to chase a ghost. Technomart may have it, but I haven't made the trip yet.

I didn't read any reviews of Korean (Samsung for example) keyboards and wireless mice, but I figure that since there are so many "professional" gamers here that keyboard has to be good somewhere. I don't need a gaming keyboard, but one for programmers and writers. I am getting a major cramp and back pains with all the time I am spending at the machine writing...

Help! (I do the downloads to keep my interest up and provide a relief).

Have you been searching for Korean torrents or English?

Do you know your bandwidth capacity?

I pull somewhere between 2 and 3 gigs a day. I see no reason why it would take such an extremely long time for a single movie. Even an img rip (around 4 gigs) shouldn't take more than a couple of days. Hell, I downloaded a 33 gig set of the very first season of Doctor Who (classic, indeed!) in under a week.

Yes, Logitech makes good keyboards and mouses. You'll find tons of them in Yongsan.

Namaste.

I'm supposed to be using the fastest broadband connection in Korea: Kangnam Cable. I guess I'm using the wrong torrent program. I just figured that that was reasonable since most of the locals use it.

The problem isn't bandwidth but rather who has those programs or files on their share folders. Many people don't apparently have certain of the movies that I am looking for. I would imagine Dr Who is rarer than A Clock Work Orange, but beats me.

I'm using a MicroSoft Wireless Mouse and Keyboard set (I forgot what it's called but it blows because the control key has to be hit roughly on center to connect, and that doesn't happen often enough. I want to chuck my keyboard through my window and scream like an ape sometimes!

I hope Logitech is better. Is there a particular model you recommend? I use the control, alt, shift, delete, page down, page up, home, end and function keys like a fiend. I don't want the number key board...

Maybe my question is too specific. I would settle for what your keyboard is and why you think it is so good. I don't want to drop $200-$300 on some schmuck set that I can't return because I can't make it out to Yongsan again. (Yes, I'm willing to spend that much for a good keyboard and mouse because typing and editing is my life.)

I have a PowerMac G5 dual 1.8Ghz. My keyboard won't do you any good. Wink

Have you tried cleaning your keyboard? Do you have a plastic protector?

M$ makes pretty good mouses.

You can buy a Logitech wireless keyboard+mouse for around $40US online. Be a smart shopper and don't pay too much.

What BT client do you use? For the basic clients, you might try BitPump, ABC, Torrent (ber secure), or even TorrentStorm (no longer updated, but still a speedy client). You can even find clients that include RSS aggregators (FireAnt). Firefox has MozTorrent, a plug-in that enables all sorts of file sharing.

Also, try a different hub. If you want to go the route of the public tracker, try mininova, isohunt, TorrentReactor, Mybittorrent, TorrentBox, Torrentspy, meganova, the Pirate Bay, etc. For private trackers, you might try Ilovetorrents, Code09, moviez.to, FileSoup, etc.

Or, if you need music, games trackers, I could provide a few of those too.

Namaste.

re: a clockwork orange

If you go here, http://www.torrentz.com/search_clockwork-orange, they have over 200 people seeding/leeching "A Clockwork Orange". You could probably get it in a few hours.

Want movies?

Just find a good DVD rental store (my local video store has a few thousand titles) and download a little program called dvdshrink.....assuming you have a DVD burner.

Rent the movies. Copy the movies. Buy DVD cases. Print the covers from http://www.cdcovers.cc/ and you will have an awesome DVD collection in no time!!

psssst! Don't tell anyone else....
