dude, why are you wasting your time trying to sell it to these cheapskates?
get a Korea friend to list it on maczoo, or kissmac, or any one of the other Korean mac sites that are out there and you could probably get at least 750,000 - 800,000 for it ... |
800,000??!!! That's only 390,000 won less than a shiny new MacBook that absolutely blows an 867 machine away. A student/teacher would pay even less.
If anyone paid that much for a machine obsoleted 6 or 7 times over and with no warranty...well, some might call them unsophisticated...simple-minded...like the people who made the above suggestion.
Wuzza and artcc, why don't one of you buy the computer for the offered price and sell it for a handsome profit?
Good Luck. |

No way he gets 750-800k, even on the Korean boards. 500k sounds right; still higher than the offers here so I guess ARTCC's point is still valid. |

Sounds right, ok, unless you are actually thinking about buying it and you consider the options. It's been at that price, unsold, for quite some time... Used things without warranty and the usual wear and tear should go for 1/2 their new price. A used Mac Book would therefore go for 650,000. The Powerbook is 1/4 as fast as a MacBook and handles less than 1/2 the ram. Need I say more? Just this.
Computers do not hold their value.
I think 350,000 is a valid offer. |

If you read my previous post again you'll see that I was referring to the offers he would get on the Korean used market.
Please tell me more about this computer thing... it sounds fascinating. |

Your example is meaningless.
There is no used MacBook for 650 000 won. Show us one and then maybe you can get a G4 for 350 000. You're living in lala land.
You have two options:
1. Pay the big money for the shiny new MacBook.
2. Pay a fair price for a functional notebook that runs at a half decent speed, with a respectable amount of RAM and preloaded with some great software. (with wireless internet built in!)
getting this computer for 350 000 won't be an option for another year or two.
But hey, maybe you should take your generous offer of 350 000 to this guy ...

it's the same computer listed here, except it's got a smaller HD. Listed for 800 000 won. I think he might sell it for less, but I'd be surprised if he goes under 600 000.
my previous post stands ...

Like I said, if you think you can get 800,000, buy it yourself, Simple Simon.
I offered what it's worth to me, not what it's worth to someone foolish enough to over-pay for a fossil. |

Be careful of those MacBook Pros. There are a lot of battery complaints surfacing after only 6 months of usage. |

check out kmug.co.kr
They have a used marketplace.
The price he is asking is pretty close to the mark compared to the others for sale there.
Here is the exact same machine (based on the OP's post of specs) for the same price.
Powerbook
Many people don't realize that macs have a much higher resale value than regular PCs. Whether or not they should is another question. Non-working powerbooks are being sold for parts for more than the equivalent of 350,000. |

I sold the powerbook. It was interesting to see all the different opinions on what it could be sold for. In the end, I bundled together a bit of software, an accessory, and got the lowered asking price of 500,000.
That's the third mac I've sold since buying my first mac about four years ago.
Not to be another smug mac user -- but it is one of the good things about having a mac is that they keep some value even after more than three years of use. |

Yeah, well, you pay through the teeth in the beginning as well. |
