I can't wait for "anti-obesity" day. Pictures hung of stressed organs, fat-caked hearts, intestines plugged full of unexpelled food, liposuction close-ups, stomache-stapling videos, fat people chewing down some slimy chicken...
Going to a restaurant and seeing an overweight person eating fatty food is a form of assault.
It's the second leading cause of preventable death, second, yes, to smoking. It should be as villanized as smoking, as it is very difficult to stop smoking; no more so than dieting.
However, yes, smoking should be discouraged among children, for sure. Anti-smoking day is certainly a good thing. |

There are far more smokers than obese people in Korea, so first things first.
Just getting smokers trained not to smoke in bathrooms would be a minor miracle. |

smoking is cool. If I could, I would eat 'em!
I am happy for there to be days where this is universally acknowledged.
Thank you anti tobacco day! |

| To bring it back on topic, is smoking even allowed at schools back home? I don't mean students, a third of whom I'm sure light up when and where they can; but are teachers allowed to smoke anymore? I sure would miss my hourly trip to the smoke shack. |

My school is now smoke free. Much to the unhappiness of several male teachers and employees. They gave the beat down to one old male teacher (swear to pete he looks like a gangster) told him he couldn't smoke on school grounds or across the street or in the bathrooms.
He made an office under the steps of the main stage and closes the door and you can see the smoke wafting out now and again. Whatever I guess as long as I don't have to smell it.
We had some students caught smoking last year and they had to spend their free time at lunch hours walking around with signs that said they were stupid to smoke. Rain or shine.
I am very happy that they don't allow it anywhere near the school the smell makes me gag (literally) and I have allergy to smoke.

You're sure lucky you don't work at my school. I cannot that happening here (except the part about students, of course; I've only caught one smoking and I was too afraid of what might happen to haul her to the staff room). |

Thought I'd post this as well - this is our PE teacher, in the middle of the soccer pitch, on sports day, lighting up just as things are getting ready to get underway. |

And if you stop smoking you'll get fat. |
There are some article floating around that says while people do gain weight when they quit smoking, smoking causes body fat to concentrate on the belly.
