| Could the noise of 15 kindergarten kids drown out the siren??? Maybe that's why I missed it. I'm in Songpa and didn't hear it. |

I'm also in Songpa (Jamsil) and I heard it, but it wasn't earth-shatteringly loud. Some of my classes, on the other hand, are. |

| i swear i used to live right next to one of the actual sirens. it was mind shattering. loved it. |
Put on your day-glo shirt, take some E, and set off a car alarm to counterpoint the siren, and you've got yourself a rave. :) |
i miss human traffic life.

Me too! But apparently, not the same sauna. I'd have recognized that curly yellow hair ... hey, that's not what I mean! |

Heard the siren loud and clear yesterday at about 2pm also in the Busan area. My Korean friend told me this only happens every few months or so, and that drivers are supposed to stop, but when I looked out the window, nobody was stopping... So are these only taken seriously if another siren goes off after the one that was a drill?
Also, btw, as this is my first post. does anyone know where I should look for avatars? Not trying to take this thread on a tandem, so just pm or email me if you do. thanks.

My manager thought it was great fun it to say that North Korea was attacking. haha thats real funny Mr.Lee. My question next was, what if it were a real warning. What do we do??? He said stop your car and pull over. Stupid man, I don't drive, my school does not have a basement.....Where do we go?
Anyone |

lesson here is not be: 1) in the sauna 2) working out or 3) with kindergarteners if the north comes flying across
then again if the North does come across I think you'll be able to hear it over those distractions |

When the strike hits I'll head straight for the underground carpark and the subway.
Incidentally, why is it that a nation under threat for so long failed to build any shelters???? |

if you're in seoul that probably wouldn't help. buildings will burn and collapse (they don't even need north korea for that), and even if underground there's a pretty good chance you'd asphixiate as the available oxygen is burned in the firestorm.
an ex-military friend told me to head for the largest nearby large park and stay away from hills. i doubt i'd last that long though.
such is life in the killbox. |

| Should have found this thread earlier--put me on edge a bit, especially with the sound of jets at the end of it here in Busan. For some reason I haven't heard an air raid siren since I first came here in '96 and our bus stopped right in the middle of the expressway in Seoul and I was thinking to myself: WTF? |
