As stated many times before it depends on your spending habits and priorities.

My first year year I saved over 24,000 Cdn and that wasn't very difficult, made easier by living in a town of about 200000.

This, my second year after 5 months I am on target to beat that mark considerably due to making a much higher salary and living in the sticks a village of about 20000.

Of course, I always choose to take on some overtime so that helps a great deal.

You were able to save 20 Million won+ in one year?

You must have lived like a hermit Laughing Laughing . It takes me about 2-2.5 years to save that much...and I don't smoke or drink.

I don't live like a hermit, I just set a budget and stick to it, living on 500 000 or so a month is not that difficult in Korea.

WOW!!!!!!!!! I could never save that much in one year unless i became a hermit. I couldn't save that much after 4 years.

I don't know how anyone that makes 2 million after taxes can't save at least 12 million Won per year + severance pay. So that is like 14 million Won without trying.

I mean, 100,000 for utilities, 250,000 for food, and you can get drunk every Friday and Saturday and spend 100,000 a weekend. That is around 750,000 a month. You could drink 100,000 a night on weekends and still spend 1,150,000 a month.

I rarely drink and I don't smoke. I just eat well, travel and shop, IN addition to utilities, student loans, etc.
