For the record, I don't think that I've ever posted a thread on the "Current Events" forum that wasn't directly related to a current event. If there's a thread already posted there that basically deals with a religious topic I'll naturally respond - rather than ignore it because it might (under a strict constructionist interpretation) be more appropriate in another forum.
Personally, as I've tried to express, I don't think there's much difference between discussing politics and religion (especially since most popular religions are corrupted with involvement in politics.) It provides useful background information to present (and discuss) the nature of Islam, Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism and other as it relates to their world view and political stances.
Of course, it's really an administrative matter as to determining which forum is most proper for a particular type of thread-topic. But if you were to try to make a civil case it would most assuredly get tossed out for lacking any cause of action since there's obviously no resultant harm... |
