Where'd that go? That's the spirit we were looking for...
By the way, was anyone annoyed(if not surprised) that the Korean fans weren't sophisticated enough to hush a little for what may be Zidane's final exit? |
Sophisticated + Korean = Oxymoron |

Unfortunately I made that up last time in Korea. Came back only for $$$. I'm hoping it is only about 8 months left now this time. Too lazy to change it. |

I can't imagine doing something you hated in a country you hated full of people you hate for hogwan wages.
I have nothing against people criticising anything, but when they do it in such a sophomoric, border-line retarded fashion, there's no way we should humor it. Yes, I'm an apologiser - for semi-coherent, well-thought out discussion.
Our friend here.....well, he needs to scurry back to wherever he came from. |

I've said this before and I say it again Koreans are the luckiest bu ggers when it comes to World cup - it's the Ahn Jung Hwan effect. When Korea was down one goal, all the koreans were shouting 'bring out Ahn Jung Hwan!!! he's not the greatest player but he's the luckiest!!!' |

Thanks for stalking me. Like I said only here for the money. I think you're a little off or are running away from something if you want to stay here forever. Sometimes you have to sacrifice to get what you want and for me that means staying here making money whilst I get my stock analyst licence. Taxes are low and the cost of living is cheap. I really couldn't give a flying f#ck what you think about me.

I don't work at a hogwan, I work at a company and close to double the hogwan wage with less hours. Not tooting my own horn just rebutting your comment. I can't say I enjoy my job that much but like I said a little sacrifice now I can live wherever I want and do whatever I want in the future. Some people may think that's stupid and that's fine, you are entitled to your opinion. |

Of course, you could be hit by a bus tomorrow, leaving a legacy of whining about a country that pays you and allows you to save a decent amount. I once worked with a guy who lived here three years, never went out, ate tuna and rice every day to save money, all for the mythical "future". What about those three friggin' years? They don't count for anything?
Anyway, you can complain about Korea all you want, just try to sound a little intelligent in doing so. It will help your cause. |

So we should get down on our hands and knees and thank Korea for giving us the opportunity for living here? A little healthy criticism never hurt anyone. Koreans take shots at foreigners all the time. 3D workers are treated terribly, KTU makes up lies about foreigners, and garbage like that. Makes you feel right at home eh?
That and the ridiculous hoops you have to jump through to become a Korean citizen. I think it is justifiable to feel a little mercenary sometimes because I think we are treated like that a lot of the time.
I don't hate Korea but I don't adore it either. Balance is needed and I think sometimes that is in very short supply in this country. |

Ah, well. I made a quip myself, but now they're here in force.
Abort mission.
Enjoy fellas. |

I think it's PJ Harvey, off the album art for stories from the city, stories from the sea....and btw, see what happens when you try to simplify things by condensing world cup threads into one? a short descent into bitch-fest (let that be a lesson to you about good intentions, and all that...)
C'mon the togo!!! |

That was the most retarded display I have ever seen in any professional sport.
Korea are so bad it makes me sick. They couldn't even get a shot on the French for the first 80 minutes, and the French sat on their one goal lead like it was the Maginot Line.
Korea are deadly boring to watch. They had two shots on net in the entire game and scored on one of them.
In the words of the Guardian, "An astounding end to a largely appalling match."
| Quote: |
| This game looks to be ensconced in a pattern of Korean possession, Korean toothlessness, and occasional rapid French breaks around that big bottler Henry. |

But we know where the author would stand in the "What do you think about the French?" thread:
| Quote: |
| Sod impartiality department Korea have a corner. Come on Korea! |
| Quote: |
| France were good in the first half, when they led by a fine Henry goal (Vieira also scored but it was Roy Carrolled by the linesman), but they faffed about lamentably in the second and were punished by Ji-sung Park's late equaliser. It was all extremely surreal, and I have no idea how France did not win that game, though the fact they are rubbish and bottlers assuredly did not help. |
BTW: The Togo v. Suisse match is puttering, no? |
