Yeah, the story is back to front really.
Still, it is pretty pathetic no matter what. Alcohol tends to bring out the best in people. |

Ummm...not necessarily at all. Without a transcript of the confrontation it is not possible to tell exactly; it all depends on which side said, "Yo mamma!" first. |

No, it wasn't that people physically attacked other people for not cheering enough, it was the other way around. People attacked other people for saying they're not cheering enough.
That means that in Korea, if we are going to start generalizing, you cannot try and force people to show more patriotism otherwise you will be assaulted.
The OP has the whole incident back to front and before this becomes another 19-page thread of ignorant spitting at Korea, he needs to change the title. |
Not at all. What I was referring to was the slander of calling someone a traitor for not cheering enthusiastically enough. The physical assault was a secondary consideration.

I pointed that out in the cross-post of this thread over in General. But you can't blame the OP -- look at the title of the article. |

| It still points to extreme nationalism, as it shows that being accused of not being enthusiastic enough for your national team is a deadly serious insult that warrants physical controntation. |
