i like other korean foods but the portions are too big and i end up wasting too much of it (i don't have a microwave so taking it home to reheat is futile) |

...I use that thing, hooked to the line, that the woman comes to check with her whatchyamacallit...I put the food in another thing, ontop of that thing hooked to the line...I then turn a doohickey and then hot bluey stuff comes out...that hot bluey stuff heats up the stuff that I put in that other thing ontop of the thing hooked to the line... |

OK, so I'm not working right now, so I didn't eat lunch at school (ate lunch at a 4th of July BBQ overlooking the Nenana River ), but when I am at school we have a mix of western & Korean food. I've gotten to the point where I prefer the Korean food... except on spaghetti day. MMmmmm... spaghetti day. |
Ugh.
I used to work at a Girls foreign language high school that had spaghetti days...the sauce was like ketchup with dog food blended in, the noodles were overcooked to the point where they melted off your fork and they always served it up with that nasty made-from-powder cream of mushroom soup whose closest run-in with funghi was the stuff between the cafeteria ladies' toes. But, as we were the foreign teachers, they assumed we loved the stuff, and every time, before we saw what it was and made a run at the door, they dragged us to the front of the line and served us enough piled pasta, katsup and cream to hide behind or bathe in. Oh heavenly mother of yuck.
But at least there was always bread: usually mayonnaise, ketchup, ham, and pb& j sandwiches. (Check the punctuation--there were no options listed--I described one form of sandwich...)
As for today:
Wheat Noodles with Goju-jang
Gaeran-Mari
Yeol-mu Kimchi
Chamchi-Chiggae
Rice with peas
and Yoghurt. |
