Do you not think that a more rational sentence would read that "Many drug users fall prey to the effects of the drugs they are using"? Are there ghosts in a vodka bottle? |

Maybe not ghosts, but there are spirits in a vodka botle.....
Anyway, I've experienced this a lot here in Korea.
In my first studio while I was 'paralyzed' I would hear scratching all over the floors, walls and ceilings. This happened a lot. Even my friends would hear the scratching when they stayed over. They refused to stay there alone.
I've heard a female voice say my name from different places in the room.
Other times I could feel the bed 'indent' like someone sat down there. But I couldn't move to feel if there was an actual indentation.
Something Rteacher said really makes sense to me.
One time I suddenly felt a real cold wind just on my lips.
In my new place things haven't happened so much. But I still get that paralyzation and some kind of presence in the room. And still get the bed indentation feeling.
Real freaky. |

I've had sleep paralysis lots of times. Not for a few years though. Very, very freaky.
It's really weird waking up then having a crazy experience then waking up for real!!!
And yes, often it feels like some kind of animal is sitting on your chest or face.
I once had a full conversation with a bearded man who I thought was sitting on the armchair in my Mom's living room. I was asleep on the sofa at the time. The conversation went along the lines of he was actually my brother Patrick and that he was planning to do a murder. Then I woke up for real. |

I had all the similar qualities (I've read so much about this).. the frozen, can see your room with half-open eyes, but can't move or speak. You can see a being (or beings). You are conscious of absolutely everything, but frozen unable to do anything about it.
My first experience was a witch or old hag. At the time it was a creepy old woman (something similar in appearance to that illusion drawing - the ugly woman and the beautiful woman). But I was seeing the old ugly woman. She was creeping onto my bed, and she was trying to get on top of me or my throat. She peered into my eyes, and I saw her eyes. I was powerless to do anything. I tried to scream or yell but couldn't do anything, and suddenly I remember her just screaming or laughing and suddenly screaming off into the distance with like a comet tail as she left. Whenever I have something like this, I start praying to God and I'm not even religious, but don't know what else to do but that. If it wards off spirits, its all good to me. But it felt incredibly real, and haunted me in its realness for quite some time afterwards.
Shortly after that time, it was by several clown/demons. I've always felt unsettled by clowns. But anyways, I was in that same state again. I was conscious of my room, my bed, the walls, everything, but I couldn't speak or move. Clown-like demonic-feeling beings came upon me. They started pulling at me, then started stretching me and taunting me and pulling on my limbs. Again, I'm not religious, but I turn religious because it feels like a real entity with bad intentions, so I'm unsure how else to handle the situation, and I'm powerless to move or speak. So I just pray for protection that they'd go away, and eventually they do. But yeah, real freaky. I couldn't sleep for several days after that one. I also remember they were deliberately trying to pull me downward as if through the mattress itself if they could have.
Then I began having them quite frequently for a year or so. Always felt like something was trying to inhabit my body, or take over it or something. Really freaked me out each and everytime. Then they became so frequent for awhile, that they didn't unnerve me quite as much anymore like the first half dozen times did.
Anyways, overall it feels like demonic-like beings. I'm not religious at all, but I did (and still have) very religious parents who indoctrinate that stuff into their kids at an early age. Lots of stuff around about demons and the devil in my parents house. And yeah, like others mentioned, this feeling that you're losing your soul or body.. and particularly when in my 20s, I regrettably was doing all kinds of hallucinagetics and drugs anyways. I do think it opens you up to that kind of thing as well. I laid off of all of that stuff some time ago around the same time I began having these things occur.
The real-ness to it is incredibly real though. Its not like a 'dream'. You can actually feel an entity of some sort. A real being is in the room. Not a vision, not a dream, but an actual entity (its wierd - I can't call it a someone or something.. just an entity of some sort). And its real freaky in its realness to say the least. Because generally I'm not one to entertain stuff like that of any nature - UFOs, aliens, devil, etc. at all. I just don't like any of that stuff whatsoever. |

| Unlike people on this forum, Vedic knowledge is perfect. The reason that there are more ghost encounters in Korea than in most places is because the suicide rate here is so high (probably a lot of ghosts in Japan too - including old kamakazis...) |

In a way yes. I wonder if I am doing what I was supposed to do or walking the true path. I believe in Christ, but don't walk the walk. So does this truely make me a christian. I would say no. I sometimes feel miserable when I deny my nature and try to walk in "the light". I see Christianity as more than just a ritual or sense experiance. I don't like the thought of going through the motions and desire for a genuine relationship with Christ. However my lazyness and fears get in the way of that. I know not everyone shares my beliefs and some if not many believe it was all made up or are "certain" it was all made up. Anyway I don't want this to become another Christian/Relgious debate (that horse has been beat to death) nor do I really need the attention. I prefer to figure this out for myself, but if people want to provide "guidance" send me a pm. But since you asked I answered.
Again I expect this to be thrown at me at a later date because I am revealing my weak spot.

I felt like I really was fighting this being off in my first experiance. Like other posters have mentioned it felt like he was trying to enter my mouth or come inside me. I woke up out of breath in fear and panic. It felt incredibly real. I immediately went online looking for stuff. I came across what Rteacher was talking about. How demons/spirits would attack people that were in a weaker state, ie intoxication or when you are alone. It said to chant the name of Christ and so on. I was freaked out, but didn't completely believe it was a demon. But at the same time I didn't believe it was just a hallucination.
In my episode with the pale woman it felt like something was leaving my presence. I also had started to ask for Jesus and that sort of stuff. Maybe it is just a defense mechanism in my mind but it sure felt real.
In one of my later episodes I started calling for Christ name and instead of my voice I heard a muffled, darker voice. Again I was freaked out when I woke up. Another Episode I saw two figures standing at the door watching me. I now sleep with all my doors closed and will occasionally leave my lamp on when sleeping. Another Episode I was in the paralyzed state and this transparent script was being scrolled back in forth in front of me. I thought I made out the word PAIN, but I can't be certain.

One of the perks of being raised in a superstitious, fundamentalist Christian family is that an incident like this is immediately determined to be an attack by Satan. I was chosen by God for some reason to do some great thing, and Satan was there to scare me off. So, the parents took cooking oil and rubbed it across the frame of my door. It wouldn't be for another 10 years that I found out, by absolute chance, what had actually happened. Btw, my parents don't believe the scientific explanation. They still think it was Satan.
The other two incidents were less intense, but involved attacks by demons. To the young, deluded, Christian boy, these events were terribly frightening. |
I also grew up in a conservative christian household. When I was maybe 13 or 14 I woke up and saw the Grim Reaper standing in my room. After five seconds he moved and vanished. I was freaked out, but didn't tell my parents. He didn't speak to me or anything like that. I can't imagine if he had. After the second or so image appeared I started sleeping in the living room for a couple of weeks.
My father owns rental property and we had a group of devout Catholic Mexicans stay in one of our houses. They had a bag of garlic over the doorway to ward off the Evil Spirits. I find this kind of stuff interesting.
It is comforting to know other people have gone through similar experiances. Actually most of the other posters experiances sound scarier than mine. The clown visions and being engulfed in fire are horrific. I appreciate the responses. |

| I saw a show about in on the Discovery Channel. The name the gave it was "The Entity". It comes while you are in sleep paralysis and sits on your chest or something like that. You can't move or breath. The vision appears either as an old lady (old hag) or as a just a dark apparition. I don't give a whole lot of credence to it, since I don't believe in ghosts or any other such nonsense. Strange how it always happens in the dark, when things already look unclear. I'm sure it's only a bad dream, that you are just waking up from, but not totally awake. I'm surprised to see so many instances of it on this board though. I guess more people believe it or believe they have experienced it than I originally realized. Interesting thread though. |

This has happened in the daytime after sleeping in or taking naps. The first experience happened around 11:00 am. It wasn't dark but wasn't bright in the room either. However it was light enough to see the event quite clearly. I will sometimes take naps and experience it as well. The two beings standing in my door-way was after a nap in the afternoon. The pale lady experience happened in the afternoon, as did the black blob surrounding me. These events have happened over the course of months, but it usually happens after I stay up all night and sleep all day or take naps to catch up on lost sleep.
I am not ruling it out as being a dream or in my brain, but I believe it might be something else. In the first experience and the black blob experience I felt like I was actually struggling with something and wasn't released like in a dream state. I felt as if it was shaking me and I was trying everything to resist it. In a dream/nightmare you usually wake up after the moment of terror or you can control the dream because you realize it is a dream. This wasn't the case. It was prolonged and it was as Tiger Beer described it. I could see everything as if I was looking up from my bed, and I felt paralyzed. I couldn't control it and I didn't wake up immediately. I have started getting used to it and until yesterday it had been months till I have experienced the paralysis. |

My opinion (based on my wealth of Vedic knowledge - and first-hand experience...) is that you were fighting off a ghost from taking over your body.
There are different classes of ghosts, and some are a lot more powerful than others.
Ghosts are people without gross bodies (usually because of having commited suicide their previous life...) They just have a subtle body (mind) covering over their soul, and they are full of material desires which they can act out only by inhabiting another person's body.
The average ghost can only take over the body of a person in a weakened condition (usually due to intoxication...) They usually enter through the mouth while the person is sleeping. (A person sleeping with mouth open and drueling is an easy target ...)
I've personally experienced being under the grip of powerful ghosts (probably brahman raksasas - demons who target devotees ) - and I had to concentrate all my effort to chant the holy name of KRISHNA! to get rid of them. (Loudly chanting the name "Christ" or any other name of God should also work...)
Other ways of warding off ghosts (and evil spirits...) are to sleep with a light on in the room, have a book of scripture open (like Bhagavad-gita or the Bible...) and light incense ... Many homes in India have special statues, masks (I forget their name) or talismans that are supposed to repel evil spirits and ghosts...
Many drug-users and alcoholics temperarily fall prey to various ghosts who in effect push aside the predominating soul assigned to a particular body and take charge for a while (causing a pronounced personality change...) |
Ghosts. ?
Thanks for letting me know they enter through the mouth. Seriously, did you cut and paste an Onion article? |

I never got the feeling she/it was demonic, and not trying to inhabit my body in a bad.
Just lonely and sad.
What someone mentioned about the high suicide rate here makes me think about this even more.
I've also experienced it in the day time occasionally.
Anyway, I'm glad I'm not the only one who's experienced this.
It's odd that I never experienced it in Canada or America, just here.
(I've experienced other strange and similar stuff, but not this particular happening)
(and no, it's not from stress or alcohol)
I think some chick in my neighborhood committed suicide and since I am open to this kinda stuff, I keep her company. Maybe.
Anyway, it happened a lot more in my other apt. I still live near by, but maybe she doesn't like the commute though......
I dig creepy stuff. |

What's that cooking in the microwave? ...
This picture was taken on mothers day 2006. It was in a motel in susanville,ca. The face appears behind me,but what i find strange is, it is on the microwave. I have only heard of faces appearing in tv's and computers. I've been looking at this picture for a couple of weeks now and cant figure it out. I would like to focus in on just the face but when its blown up it gets blured. It is of nobody in the room with us. its very interesting to me. I would like to be able to focus in on this picture but i cant seem to do it. maybe someone out there can...
http://www.ghost-mysteries.com/view.php?id=149
(probably someone doing some trick photography, right? - Maybe "jinzu" can explain it - or maybe the lady's pulling a hoax...)
I've personally experienced what I'm almost sure were ghosts, but I've never really seen one... |
