Unless you see very few people each day, seeing a few tall guys would still make them a very small minority. |

| i don't know what everyone is talking about. i find everyone here fairly similar in height to people back in the homelands. i'm just over six feet and it isn't anything special. japan and some parts of china (to name some countries) are generally smaller but korea is fairly similar to the west in that sense. when i first arrived i was expecting to be peer over crowds of people but it wasn't even close. |

But Korea has the tallest asians around.. i'm 5'10 almost 5'11.. and i do not feel like i'm tall at all.. actually Korea is the place to be in Asia if you are tall.. as they are actually the tallest Asians around this part of the world..
Japanese and Filipinas seem to be significantly smaller.. about six inches shorter than the average Korean it seems..
Also, I have met a large enough number of Korean men taller than me that I don't even think anything of them being taller than me.. one step further, I recently dated a Korean woman who was taller than me as well.. (again about 5'10 1/2).. |

| Agreed...Many Korean are quite tall but "big-boned"? Most of the tall guys I see are pencil thin and look as though gale winds will snap them in half. |

Yeah, tell me about it! I'm back in the States now.. damn, land of the giants here! I keep forgetting that Americans are actually quite big!

(And I'm 5'11). But to the topic at hand, its not an issue in Korea. |

| I have a mate, who is on this forum, who is 6"6 and must weigh in at around 140 kgs...I think he would be intimidating to the wee one's. |

just wait until you see the soldiers who patrol Jongro to protect against riots during protests etc. all those guys are at least 5'10, and most are taller. its easy to say that Koreans are the tallest asians....and indeed many are big boned....if not fat...due to good ol mcd's and fastfood invasions. granted, we win hands down.
that said...as much as i believe korean food is healthy...i dont think it has caused me to lose weight, and i eat at least one large korean meal a day. koreans just dont understand that white rice is not all its said to be. i think it is basically garbage calories. i wish they would use brown rice etc. more often. |
