I'm going to Taipei with a few people for Chuseok as well. We're flying out either Wed night or Thur morning and leaving Sunday night. We want to be in Taipei from Fri night on so that we can go clubbing for two nights. Any suggestions on how to plan a trip from Thurs morn until Fri night.
My godmother lives in Kaoshiung as well. What's the fastest way to get there and how long would it take? The only other place that everyone wants to see is Toroko Gorge. Should we just rent a car for Thurs and Fri and drive down to Kaoshiung and stop at the gorge on the way? Or should we join some sort of a tour/package deal? It's going to be a somewhat rushed trip but we want to see and do as much as possible.
Thanks for any advice. |

Tienmu's hardly a ghetto. It's one of the cleanest wealthiest places in taiwan. Not a lot of english teachers can afford to live there.

True. I had been in Taipei a good 5-6 months before I hopped on a bus to Tienmu just to check it out. It was a lot nicer than most of Taipei. There was a real Japanese department store there and some good restaurants. Definitely an upscale, prosperous and affluent area. |

Yeah, Tienmu is expensive and not very conveniently located to the rest of Taipei.
I don't go out there often. |
