So I took her to Outback!!!!!! Wow!!! I know it's hardly a candlelit dinner on the ritz balcony overlooking gay Paris, but it was the gesture more than anything else. Plus we both enjoy a steak now and again and it was six months together not six years. So give me a break.

We had a great time with a few drinks afterwards in a cosy bar we like and she loved the roses too. Once again I will say that I am the best boyfriend ever. Laughing

I could see people giving you sh!t if this was back home with scores of other nice resturaunts to choose from but this is Korea. In Korea, Outback is considered nice (and expensive) by most young Korean people. Any drink is included! Laughing

Do you love her?

Is she your dream woman?

Does your heart beat faster whenever you get near her?

Did you want her from the first moment you saw her?

Is she your soul mate?

Was it love at first sight?

is she...the ONE??

BTW: why is it that all girls seem to love diamonds?

Are you kidding me? Please...not every girl seems to love diamonds. I actually prefer the diamonds just to be accent pieces to my jewelry. I hate that most of them lack colour. So I guess if my partner was to ever buy me a diamond he would be spending a fortune as I hate the white ones....I'll take a yellow or blue or pink diamond but never the white ones. I find them plain and ugly.

I was never that girl that bought into the "normal" romance thing. I hate roses and chocolates too....Flowers for me must be Orchids--they're very sexy those dirty little flowers--and sweets must be the little caramel squares. The partner picked up on that pretty quickly. He brings me home flowers every couple of weeks...just a bouquet of flowers usually consisting of lillies or wild english flowers....but when he really wants to win me over he brings home the orchids. Ahhh flowers they smell sooo pretty!

Another who doesn't go in for the diamonds thing (although I do like those old fashioned rugosa roses that grow wild and tumbly and smell heavenly - I'm not fond of the florist versions, especially the red). My original ring was a garnet set in silver which Other Half replaced with a Roman brass ring (circa 400 AD) around our 20th year together. It was, IMO, a very romantic gesture, but then he has many - most of them having nothing to do with a specific date but 'just because'.

lol

Awesome rant.

But really, if 6 months is no big deal, you should've just taken her to the kimbap shop and grabbed a few veggie ones.

Kudos! Outback ain't cheap and it is a popular couples place insofar as Koreans go. It might seem like a dull place to us, but to many Koreans its their favorite restaurant and a place people go to celebrate birthdays and other special occasions.

Hell, my friend had her baby's first birthday at the Sizzler.

I did the Family Mart thing, even wiping down her chair. I also went the whole 10 yards and got some fireworks which we set off for a group of adorable kids.

But this was just a first anniversary......maybe next year I'll go for the kimbab or soup shop as someone mentioned. I don't particularly like the outback. Too lonely.

my bf and i have been together for over two years and I've gotten flowers from him once Exclamation (and I had to "hint" that I wanted them)

I guess he's just not the romantic type
Crying or Very sad
He is super sweet though- does that still count?
