It really needs no explanation; Buchanan is a very plain speaker, leaving virtually nothing "between the lines".

Like when he said of Hugo Chavez, the US should "take him out", he clearly meant "take him out to dinner and a movie".

Actually Buchanan has some very interesting things to say sometimes. I read his book, "How the Right Went Wrong" and found myself agreeing with at least 60-70% of what he said. I recommend even liberals read it because he points out how bad the Republican party has been hijacked by the Neocons.

I thought that was Pat Robertson? Did Buchanan say that, too?

Du'oh!

Q: So now I'm confused- I had thought it was the same guy who called Canada "Soviet Canuckistan" and who said the US should "take out" Chavez.

But one was Buchanan the politician, and the other was Robertson the tv evangelist?

Ha Ha, guess I've got to bone up on my US politicians!
TV evangelists too! Laughing

Pat's book is #1 on amazon.com. Maybe a few people are starting to wake up.

Seems to me that Buchanan always strongly criticizes the Republicans, but when it's election time he never fails to endorse their candidate for President... And isn't it a little unbecoming for an Irish-American to call for a clamp down on immigration? (But, then again, Kennedy was Irish, too...)
