I use it. I like it. I don't think it's all that though.

It gets through to Hanmail which is more than can be said for a certain couple of e-mail providers. Although, whose fault that is is questionable.

And you can't argue with a 2.7 gigabyte inbox.

I have a meagre 98 invites by the way.

Just for a pointless pissing contest.........I got my Gmail account on May 19th 2004. Anyone earlier?

So what's the magic secret to getting spam on your Gmail? I've had it for over a year and the only spam I've ever gotten is this one thing in Portuguese that comes in once a month.

What is it with all these spammers whose email addresses look freakily similar to my own?

Nope. I just looked. January 15th, 2005.

I love it, especially the threading feature. I'm in the middle of some editing work for a journal and have to contact the authors I'm shepherding, my co-editor for the issue and the overall editor in different combinations about different things. It's great for keeping all the replies organized.

I've been slowly shutting down my Yahoo account because I like gmail so much better.

I thought I had you beat but Augustish 2004. I thought I had it in the earlier part of 2004 but I didn't start seeing LOSER(an ex) until April 2004 and he's the one who sent me the invite. I don't have the exact date of when I got the invite and signed up as I erased any emails from LOSER in my inbox including the "welcome" email so the earliest I have is end of August...but I know it was early August....not that it really matters....I like the Gmail....it's good to me

Is his nickname really "LOSER", or is that your nickname for him?

Ya know, I heard about it when it came out, but was still satisfied with my Juno account before Juno started getting all freaky weird. Juno was the first account I ever had, back in 1994 I think, so I felt I should stick with it. Kept hearing people rave about this "gmail" and finally gave in.

Didn't like it at first, but now I love it. VanIslander mentioned that people get too zealous about it, which is comically true. I felt compelled to make a thread glorifying an email service! Rolling Eyes

Oh that's the nickname I gave him but now that I think about it it's probably the nickname he always had. I always have a nickname for the guys according to their actions and he was a complete and utter bore and loser. What did I ever see in that guy... Rolling Eyes

a friend of mine has a nice knickname for her first ex-b/friend: nimrod.

anyway, i haven't "converted" to gmail because I've been using my yahoo for years now. That and the fact that I view google as the new version of microsoft (in its size and domination of the market).

I agree. Gmail has cute features but it's too slow.

Impossible to work with once you've experienced having your own paid email addy routing messages to you at the click of a button on your desktop.

Entourage on your desktop is where it's at... Cool

You can use Gmail as a POP3 account. I don't even go to the web site.

WTH is Entourage? MacIntosh software?

Looked it up: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_Entourage
Seems pretty good.

Use your gmail account on Dave's ESL. I get loads of spam. Either someone harvests the email from the mail button or Dave sells his lists.
