OK I think I found my problem, the router I got only has ports for high speed internet not USB ports where I can hook my printer to.

I know now that I need a new router so the question is do I get a second one just for my printer and just piggyback it to the one I have or are there routers that will do both internet and USB?

thanks

NO.

You plug the printer into the USB port on one of the computers.,
You install the printer software drivers on that computer.
From windows you then enable the "share" on the printer

You then go to the 2nd computer and install a "network printer"

A router is NOT a print server.

but it wont find the printer, i've been trying this for a week now. I even went to the HP website for instructions.: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&cc=us&lang=en&product=90764&dlc=en&docname=c00750079

I followed them but when I put the cd in and get to #8 in the instructions it wont allow me to go to "next"

I also have a problem with setting up a home wireless network in control panel, when it says put the USB device in the USB port in the router I discover my router DOESNT HAVE a USB port.

My router is a D-Link DI 524

thanks
