Compairing Korea to Singapore which has already accumulated enough wealth to live on it's interests, has been westernized for decades and considered as one of the wearthiest country in the world doesn't seem to be fair. Maybe we should better compaire Korea to the Singapore of late 70's.

It's not a perfect comparison, but there are pertinent similarities.

One has to see how it accumulated wealth and how it became one of the wealthiest countries in the world after having been one of the poorest.

Is it the Westernization?

On a quality-of-life questionnaire, obese kids scored themselves 16 points lower than normal-weight children, a rating similar to that of kids with cancer.
� The number of children with type-2 diabetes, usually related to adult obesity, has increased tenfold in recent years.
