| I think it would be odd to see them anywhere else except in the apartment or in Ferly's??( that was his name right?) place. Did they go anywhere else? I can't remember |

I agree, this is a bad idea. I mean Dukes of Hazard did so well at the box office right?
Those movie execs must be smoking something good.
Les Mooves is an idiot for canceling one of the best shows on TV in the last few years. TV isn't that much better. |

It would seem one of the avenue of attack is taking the '70s series and camping it up, like Starsky & Hutch. But what could they bring to Three's Company other than use the power of film to actually have a three way shower scene. Show us stuff TV only teased at. |

I caught Starsky & Hutch on TV, I thought it would be pretty stupid, but honestly it wasn't near as bad as I thought. Of course I like Owen Wilson though (admittedly I don't like the Ben Stiller very much). The cameo at the end with the origional Starsky & Hutch was pretty funny. Also I never have seen the orgional series, so that probably helps a bit since I can't compare the movie to it.
Three's Company is one of my all time favoriates. If this is true and they are casting Pam Anderson, then forget it. I'm not a big Jim Carrey fan either. What's the next series they haven't remade yet that they can screw up?
Wait...we don't want to give them any ideas! |

| I think it will do well. It was a popular show and those two are so famous and popular that people will want to see it, at least out of curiosity. |

K,
I could see them doing CHIPS possibly. Not sure who would play Ponch though that would be tough. They could get any white guy to play the other guy though as long as he was a decent actor. |

Generally it takes a good, intelligently scripted and critically acclaimed movie to spawn an American TV series. For an American TV series to spawn a movie, however, it can be all those things (Star Trek, Mission Impossible, others) but what it must have been is (a) popular in its day (and frequently lowest-common-denominator popular), (b) perceived as having attained some degree of cultural icon status, and (c) curious or unusual. Examples: Addams Family, Flintstones, Beverly Hillbillies, Brady Bunch.
TV shows that I didn't think had achieved such status are Starsky & Hutch (never saw it, but had heard of it) and most definitely Three's Company. With Addams Family, Flintstones, Beverly Hillbillies & Brady Bunch, there were memorable characters, well-known catchphrases, and clever, instantly recognisable theme tunes. What does Three's Company have? Just the characters, none of them particularly funny or interesting. Oh yeah, that and one of history's most embarrassing, nauseating, airport-lounge-singer rejects of a theme tune.
Should be a made-for-TV movie or not made at all. With the Starsky & Hutch movie, America was scraping the bottom of its cultural barrel. With Three's Company, it's climbed into the barrel to wallow in its own decay.

We had a SWAT movie right? Did they do a Six Million Dollar Man"? BJ and the Bear? Sha Na Na?
What about a movie version of The Mac Davis Show? |

Family Ties - the movie
Silver Spoon - the movie
Punky Brewster - the movie
There are tons of old crappy shows that can be made into movies by producers/writers with no creative juice left. |

There has been talk of a Chips movie. Ponch will definitely be played by Wilmer Valderama of the 70's Show. It is the role he was born to play.
As far as these terrible tv based movies go, we get to see the awfulness that was green lighted by movie studios. Imagine the ideas that were turned down. |

| i was amazed by the sheer awfulness of the Scooby Doo movies. and they made TWO of them!! maybe i should add Huckleberry Hound live-action or a movie based on the animated Pink Panther to that previous list. |
