Except that Korea would then be spending so much on defense it would suddenly find it doesn't have enough to spend on native speakers of English to come here and be teachers.


Be careful what you wish for...it might come true.


It's like Canada in a way. One of the major reasons (in fact I would say the major reason) we were able to develop a universal "free" health care system was that we didn't need to build a large standing army with nuclear missiles, because we were right next door to a friendly superpower (currently the only superpower).

he's refering to when Israel bombed Iraq's nuclear facilities.

When was there a war between Israel and Iraq?

Rather agression as a direct result of nuclear weapons (Osirisk, 1981)
although there have been wars b/w Israel and Iraq
