I actually saw this sign on the subway not too long ago telling people to put their phones on vibrate. I guess that's a nice theory.

Mine vibrates once and then I chose something called Electric Eel or something like that which was the least objectionable of any of the ringtones that came with the phone. It doesn't really matter, because even at its highest volume my phone is just about inaudible if I'm anywhere where there's any background noise at all.
