Just want add my voice to those saying get the C-3 and an onward ticket. Having done a similar 1-way trip to China, I thought it wouldn't be a problem. Got to the airport (Glasgow, flying Emirates, but I'm from the US) and as I checked in was informed that I had to buy an onward ticket. Pricey. I got the cheapest refundable return ticket I could and once in Korea cancelled it, but it was still a shock, and I came close to missing the flight with the delay it caused. Of course, I was going for the automatic 30-day stamp, and have since come in on a C-3 without an onward ticket. Immigration doesn't check, at least not usually, but it might still be wise to buy yourself a refundable/changeable visa-run ticket to Japan, to be used (and reimbursed, ideally) or cashed as makes most sense. |
