| I worked 2 years in a row with zero sick days even given to me. And I was sick like every other month with some kind of cold or cough. I had bronchitis for a whole month and did 3 kindy observation classes for the parents during this time. I want to see ANYONE top that!!! |

OK up to the challenge. 5 years with no sick days. First winter here was sick with bronchitus, inner ear infection and later laryngitus - no voice for 2 weeks. I whispered to the kids (older kindy) what to do and they fell over themselves to help Teacher and keep everything not too loud because my ears hurt (really it was like listening to someone speak under water).
In a private elementary school now and been sick here and there and in the last month had several bouts of almost keeling over with weakness but explained to the students and they are generally pretty good. I feeling a bout of bronchitus coming up but still I can do that on my holiday in Thailand. |

As stated before, never taken a sick day. Been so sick that I couldn't stand up on the subway and squatted on the floor with my back to the wall (course, that was back in the day when I was doing privates and really needed the money). Broke a toe on Monday night and was at work on time on Tuesday morning. Worked a whole summer back in 95 (just before coming to Korea) with bronchitis, which is doubly bad considering that I was a diver and was working underwater some of that time.
Take that, man. |

| Two days off work and into my 7th year. Been to work with cracked ribs, broken fingers, a pinched sciatic (sp) nerve in my back, numerous rotten colds, and too many 'I want to die' hangovers. |

nautilus,
With that kind of abuse, now we know why they don't give you any additional days off during the winter and summer breaks .
Shame on you.

Took one last week for a cold.
That leaves me with 13 left before May. I suspect I will be sick on Fridays or mondays. |
Wow! A cold! And people say I am a princess!!! |

Korea - no
Canada - Hell yes
The head nurse at the hospital kept getting on my case for not taking a sick day. We had 12 hrs a month that we could use. I had not taken a sick day in 6 months.. she got upset and told me to take a couple days off.. lol. |
