| Air Canada is crap. You shall never change my feelings on this. |
You're totally wrong, sir. Air Canada is the crap they scrape off the crap. Someone said many Canadians hate them with a religious passion. Count me in the congregation, in the choir loft... never again. Never. Again.
Do what I did. Fly EVA to Vancouver, and then WestJet to your domestic destination. Or splurge and fly Singapore to Van/TO and have beautiful girls bring you free alcohol instead of cranky matrons in worn Tim Hortons outfits grudgingly throwing bags of pretzel-shaped cardboard on your lap as the CBC news loops forever on decrepit tube monitors.
In '00 I bused from St. John's to Port Aux Basques, boated to Cape Breton, bused south, and took the train from Truro to Vancouver and back home to Edmonton. Whew. A really fun time, really peaceful. I had the impossible student fare of $450. But Via has strange pricing; it's very expensive on short runs, and you would be better off flying unless you wanted to start from Vancouver and do the same thing.

You can avoid Air Canada Domestic completely. Not much difference in flight time. |

Fly to Boston and from there up to Hali. Dont take the train...! Did that once from Ontario out to Hali....IT SUCKED! Constant rocking, no comfy at all, and your stuck in a tube looking out at a beautiful day...not fun, not fun at all. Just fly and get it out of the way...
I dont like AirCanada either, but i do love airmiles....20,000 gets you a free flight from Seoul to Bangkok...and a trip from here to the east will get you 14,000 pts. When your home, apply for a CIBC Visa and they will throw in another 7000. Boom! Next vacation flight paid for if you like Thailand or anywhere else down that way!

Try to take Singapore Airlines to Vancouver.
They just won an award for best airline food. |

Hmm... I've never been to London either.
As soon as they send me my card like they were supposed to four years ago, I'm going to totally visit everyplace with the billion points I've racked up in that time. |

I think I found a way to minimize my Air Canada experience.
Anyone fly with ANA? How is it? |

| I've heard it is better than both JAL and Air Canada. |

Air Canada is my last choice in flying anywhere...Okay, perhaps any Chinese airline is a little more depressing and scarey but they are neck-in-neck.
Here's my preference (Over the big duck pond):
1. Singapore Airlines ( I think I would orgasm if I ever flew first class Singapore air)
2. JAL ...Ok, and at least they have your own private screen in the chair ahead of you.
That's all I can comment on for now...
Happy flying |
