I like them, too. Saw them in concert not long ago, and they put on a pretty decent show. Not as good as Cherry Filter or Jaurim, but pretty decent. |

it's all over the airwaves these days.
anyways, i have heard the korean version more times than i can possibly count. today at COEX i heard it sung in english.
it sounded like pat benetar, but i can't be sure. who knows about this song? |
oh...you mean that song that's been played everywhere for the last month and a half. every department store, bank, kimbab restaurant, family mart etc.
That song that half of Seoul has as their cellphone bell and the other half have as as their ringer
yeah....you're not behind....... |
i must not be behind since i said i'd heard it everywhere...
i wonder how many koreans are aware it's a cover version. |

| Mariaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Ave Maria.... Does anyone know what the lady is singing? I keep hearing the song at PC bongs, and I did think it sounded like a rip off of a Western song I heard before. I still like the sound of the song. If anyone understands what she is saying either from your wives' explanations, I would like to hear what I am being inundated with..... |
Well, I don't have a wife to speak of but being Korean and all that can't help picking up the lyrics (albeit reluctantly) cos they play it absolutely everywhere I go!!! Aaaragh!!
Sorry to burst your bubble but the song's a loads of cheesy codswallop. You're much better off not knowing the lyrics cos that way at least you can enjoy the tune. But since you're wondering, it's all about facing challenges and how she's going to overcome obastacles to reach for the clouds or something figurative like that.
Although it might be difficult for you to pick up the lyrics just by listening if your Korean reading and writing's fairly decent am sure you can find the lyrics on naver.com. I suggest you type in something like '미녀는괴로워ost가사' or even better ask a korean friend. |

Zero to none. My students were shocked when I played the original and told them when the song was made. |

this is the thrash scong of the winter!! as koreans do they will thrash this song until everyone is SICK of it! and cant bare it any longer!!
remember summer of 2002 when all you could hear was that BROWNEYES song everywhere you went.. its the same thing..
I still prefer the version that came out about 10 years ago.. it was big in korea thats probably why they ripped it off, doubt any korean knows who BLondie is..
anyway its from that MOVIE which is big in korea at the moment..
put up with it people. it will be played at least another 3-6 months everywhere you go... |
Yeah, and people are even buying it for their cyworld pages. I just scrapped the video from someone's page for my page. Why spend cy acorns to buy the song, when I can scrap the video for free? I'll use my acorns to buy better songs. |

| "Santa claus is coming to town" easily beats Ave maria as the longest incessantly, monotonously played tune in korea.Revived with a vengeance every christmas and played every week of the year afterwards, forever. |

| Koreaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Ave Koreaaaaaaaaaaaaa. I am just poking fun at the idea of hearing the song ad nauseum. It almost seems funny to listen to that song because, yes, it does sound good, but they have no clue that it comes from the West. They probably have no idea what Ave Maria means. I heard the movie it comes from is called the 200 lb beauty, and it is not a progressive movie, though you might think that. It is not about some fellow who falls in love with a big girl. It has to do with her getting some kind of surgery to become beautiful. I didn't watch the movie. I can't understand Korean. I would love to see it with English subtitles. I wish that was possible. |

Considering the lyrics to the Blondie song it makes sense:
Koreeeeeeaaaa, you've got to see her
Go insane and out of your mind. |
