I regularly get bumped up (at no cost or use of miles) but I have been a frequent flyer on a few airlines for a number of years.
Loyalty has it's privilages. |
Yeah, I've been bumped up and I'm pretty sure it was because I have LOTS of miles that I haven't used. Business class is really great...but the "sleep seats" aren't quite what their cracked up to be. I'm 5' 3" (160 cm) and I kept sliding down. Probably good if your close to 6'!
But the movies...the food...the service...the perks (those great travel packs!!!)...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

The reason is that the rest of us dont really look up to Military people. If you flew with the airline I used to work for and you flashed me a military badge, I would upgrade anyone else but you |
One of the reasons why I don't use US airlines anymore. No wonder they are all bankrupt. |

I didn't work for a US airline. This was an Asian one. I didn't really mean disrespect to army people, I just don't like when some people seem to think that a military badge suddenly makes them more important than the rest. |

| I'm not sure people think they are any better because they are in the army, but if they can get a discount or an upgrade because their are in the military, why not? Wouldn't you try to get it if you had the chance? I would. |

If you want your military discount, you get it when you book the ticket. If your entitled to a discount of any sort, by all means go and get it. The previous poster talked about "flashing his badge" to get an upgrade.
Thats just arrogant. |

Come on! When trying to get an upgrade, all is fair. ( except outright rudeness and such) He has a trick in his bag , and he is using it. So, should pretty people "ugly up", so as not to be arrogant? |
