| Stuffed a bunch of really expensive Lindberger cheese and Vietnamese fish sauce into an ex-girlfriend's brand new car's tail pipe. Last thing I heard, the car was sold a month later. I thought that was a little bit of overkill. But she did try to run me over with that car one day. Ehh!! |

Nor do I. However, seeing what evil has been done by america in the name of retaliation, any sympathy has long since evaporated over those 2,973 fatalities. You are by far one of the more ignorant people of this board. Support Our war or not, attacking afghanistan and Iraq wasnt about just payback. Notihng in foreign policy is that simple..if all we were ver after was payback, wed be at war alot more often.
Its not one day we wake up and say "Al Qaeda has had enough..lets bring the troops home" These wars are an attempt to cripple the terror organizations so that they can not operate.. Svetlana, are you Russian? If so, be aware YOUR government is also currently invovled in a war against terrorists in Chechnya for the same reason.

Sure alot of people dont support this war, for various reasons, but in my opinion its becaue people have changed.. In the 40-50s people could stomach WW2 and Korea but that started to change when Nam came, and death and casualties and protests sort of reduced the amount people can take before they are opposed..
but a few of us truly understand what pullling out now will do..what leaving Afghanistan and iraq and other middle eastern Aea of Operations will do...support Iraq or not, we are now there and nothing can change this fact, so we need to exit right.
Failure in the middle east will give terrorists and the rogue regimes who support them a foot hold in that world area and they will be able to operate unchecked.
What are we to do? let themhave free reign? and wait for another attack?
Because what all this has in advertntly caused ins, now when ever the President, be it now, or 20 years from now, feels force is necessary at any given point, it will be very hard to get public support, because people just dont have the will they used to. The war gets weary on the public and they want it to end, ignorant of what ending it now truly means in the long run. most people dont understand that wars, shape the geopolitical condition, strategic condition, economic conditions, in the regions they are fought and that of the parties to the conflict.
Even if Iraq was a mistake, personally Im glad Hussein is gone, but even if it was, that doesnt mean we just run. The power vacuum left by Husseins overthrow has brought out many factions all wanting a piece of the Iraqi pie for power and influence. The Iranians, Al Qaeda, the Syrians, and the terrorists that were in iraq before we invaded, though their bases were destroyed and abu abbas and abu nidal captured.
Also say what you will of iraq, but helping the Afghan people overthrow their own government was the right thing to do. (i get anoyed when people say we "invaded" Afghanistan..to mke, sending sepcial forces units to that nation to help its own people overthrow its own government doesnt constitute an invasion)
Afghanistan is where Bin laden was harbored, by its goverment who supported him.
People can bitch and moan all about Iraq now, but we do a hasty retreat and some eyars down the road the American nation will rue the day.
If you make a mistake you dont just leave it for someone else to clean up, you fix it, lest later on it comes back to bite you in the ass. |

I was house / pet-sitting for my sister. She flew me to BC from Montreal for a month during summer in exchang for looking after her first condo / zoo. The birds lived in her bedroom. The cat was banned from the bedroom. However, every morning the cat would yammer and scratch the door, wake up the dog who was sleeping with me, and keep it up until I got up. Well one morning I decided screw this, I'll just move the bird cages up where the cat can't reach, and he can come and go as he pleases and stop bothering me to open the door.
That night I arrived home to find feathers out in the corridor outside my sister's bedroom. I walked in the bedroom and the floor was carpeted with feathers and the cat was sitting with a smug expression next to the mutilated carcass of what was once a bird. The feathers still stuck to his mouth made him look like a cartoon character. Apparently I had underestimated how high the cat could jump, and he had tore the bottom tray off a bird cage that I had hung from a hook on the cieling. One bird had flown out, providing the cat with the greatest experience of his life.
Well shit, what to do? I had to vacuum the room about five times to bring the level of feathers back to ordinary. And then ... ah ha! I had it! I found a photo of the bird, took it to the pet shop and asked the woman if they had any birds that looked just like this one. And wouldn't you know it, they did!
My sister arived home and after explaining how the lizards died I was able to convince her all else had gone well and she was generally content with my house-sitting. she didn't find out for years later. |

Killed my parents and fled to Thailand to access forged documents before finally settling in Korea posing as a foreign language teacher.
Oh..
And I also read my sisters diary when I was about fourteen.

I was in Paris back in 1997, with a girlfriend for the weekend. We went to a nice restaurant, and I was driving so wasn't going to drink, but you know it's Paris, wonderful food, the girl says I have to try the amazing wine and I ended up having two or three glasses.
Anyway it's hard to drive on the wrong side of the road and I wasn't really sure where the hotel was- so as I was going through this tunnel, I realised I had to turn right, swerved in front of a car and kind of clipped it.
I didn't look back but it was one of those big Mercedes, some rich wanker- no harm done. |

My GF and I were in the car and she died but I barely survived the crash....  |

Funny, that's the first thing i thought when i saw the thread title.
In actuality though, it's not overlooking my parent's limitations to see the love, care, and sacrafice they gave me in getting me to adulthood. |

how did you manage that one? so many possibilities..such as 1 calls you when your with he other or texts you or some such, managing a date schedule around your work schedule, being seen in public with Girl A by Girl B or C....how? |

Without getting into details, the secret is to only let one of my favorite into my personal space (apartment) and invite yourself to other two's apartments. And another important thing to do is let them know that you're always busy (not playing, but working, studying, etc.). And always have separate hang out places (near each girl's place) so that you will lessen the chances of being seen by others. |

Not discover Korea until I was 26: 2 years wasted.
