Ignoring the fact that you drew attention to my genetic spelling disorder that I've been living with for 8 years, the deodorant over here is pants and in really small bottles. Deodarant back home only costs 3,000 Won and it makes people stop and think 'who is that man that smells like he has a personality?'
The only smells I can get here are 'fresh' or 'vanilla'. They're all boring, I want 'Wild African Tiger' or 'Columbian Spice Trader' not some curtain softener. |
You write pretty well for an 8 year old. |
Heh. Thanks for my chuckle of the morning.
As for shaving, I only tried once. High school regional championship swim meet. Coach wanted us to shave down.
My first stroke, I cut my ankle pretty bad, and never attempted it again.
Luckily, I'm not a very hairy fellow. |

There exists a special deodorant that hurts like hell, itches your skin BUT makes you stop sweating.
What it does is it clogs up your sweat glands, i used it a couple of times, it is just that the itching was making me go crazy, but it worked very well. If i could only remember the name. |

| I shave them too with an electric razor about once a month. It doesn't make you any less of a man. I also shave my gentials and ass. It allows it to air out. It is simply better hygiene. |

It's called Dry-sol. I believe the UK equivalent is Dry-clor. I know. I sweat like crazy in Asia (but barely at all in Canada). I finally found some here in HK. You're right. It works, but itches like crazy. I put it on at night, like it says to, tossed and turned in bed for an hour due to the itching and finally, had to get up and wash it off because it got so bad. Even that one hour was effective in stopping me from sweating... |

Antiperspirants that block your sweat glands are terribly unhealthy and are linked to cancer. There's a reason you sweat: your body needs to cool down. So, if you are sweating a lot then either 1) you have a glandular disorder...my uni roommate had this problem and compensated by showering 4-5 times a day. 2) You have a problem in your diet.
Drink more water. Sweat smells because of what comes with it (trace amounts of urea, nitrates and such). Get that stuff flushed out of your body through your urine.
Shower like the locals do...it really does make a big difference. |

I would like to tackle this assumption. My scooter mechanic tried on my helmet once for like 5 seconds when I dropped off my bike for repairs, I guess to be able to say, "wow, big size head" or some such thing. My helmet became contaminated with such bad B.O., even after several washings and bleachings, I had to toss it--a W180,000 helmet.
I mean, this was such bad BO, that after 5 months, I can smell it, when I think of it. |

Trim my underam hair... seems to help.
trim my hair in the nether-regions. feels so much better. on many levels. And hey, why wouldn't I do it when I expect it to be done on others. |

| ok so this is a really weird topic but I'm glad someone brought this to the attention of the masses. What is the point of pithair? I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with the smell. The smell from your armpits is because a thicker, milkier sweat comes from your armpits than from the rest of your body. As we all know, this type of sweat doesn't occur until we're teenagers and it gets worse as we age. I don't think it has anything to do with what we eat or anything maybe other than genetics. Regardless, though, it's definitely not attractive and, while shaving it is definitely weird and will have some people questioning your sexuality and maybe your sanity, unless you're overly concerned about what others think about you, I don't see any reason not to do it. In fact, I may go try out this new look myself. |

To protect an area that looses heat fast and easily. Think of the survival position if you are stuck in water. You keep your arms in and your legs up. You pits, nether regions, and head all loose heat faster and therefore have retained hair.
To the OP, shaving your pits won't fully get rid of the need for deodorant, otherwise us women wouldn't need it.
While we're on the subject, has anyone ever found women's deodorant here? I've seen lots of antiperspirant, but I've never seen deodorant. |
