Just to clarify an issue - Geckoes will be full of other western people, so who is going to be wearing the red carnation, and carrying a folded newspaper?

On the day of Chusok (Thursday, 8/11) there are plenty of flights, trains, and hardly any cars on the highways. So, that would be the best time to come to Seoul.
I suggest that we meet on the above mentioned day in Itaewon at Gecko's, have a drink, and decide where to go from there. How does that sound?

Yeah, you are right about Thursday. I just reserved two tickets leaving the city that day, one for Taipei and the other for Fukuoka. Anxious to be on a plane, I am, I am.

By the way, the Q&A forum is a section I seldom ever check. I'm wondering if there hasn't been alot of response on this because of that.. or is just me who seldom checks on this forum?

Well, I called Gecko's yesterday and tried to make a reservation under the name Dave for 7, or 8 people. I was told that during holidays and weekends no reservations are taken.
I'll be by the pool tble in the back.
