Well, not to let Bush off so lightly, one of the biggest problems, in this humble narrator's opinion, is that the US has abdicated the moral high ground. The US can't stop Russia cause it started it with this missile shield stuff. And China gets away with murder by pointing to the US as a distraction.

I don't think the moral high ground has got anything to do with it

noone fucks with china because china is more powerful than anyone else and they will be richer soon

America still fucks with countries who don't fight back every day despite not having the 'moral high ground'

Well, it was just a thought. I wasn't comparing the US to China.

The fact remains though that the US did start this new fight Russia over a stupid weapons system that won't even work, lol.

Its ok, i understand.

I just think, maybe I have been watching too much Obama, that the US has to reclaim the moral high ground, otherwise it will never be able to engage productively on the world stage again.

I don't think the US ever had the moral high ground outside of the US tbh

America has been ripping off poor Americans and poor countries all over the world since they gained independence from England

Thats why our countries are rich imo, I'm English, and it's not like we have the money because England or America is better run or less corrupt, it's because we are better at stealing

in my view, a world with fewer falong gung or christians walking around in it is a good thing... hopefully their organs wont pollute whoever gets them.

Be careful what you say. You may need an organ transplant really soon. Like maybe a heart? Wink

Or maybe a brain...can you get one of those?

Have you ever heard of 'labour force productivity'? OR, do you only parrot what some flunky prof told you?

A simple question.. Why would a factory worker in the USA earn more than a factory worker in Italy? Because the US steals from Italy?

The US did help the reconstruction of the Sicilian Mafia and Camoranese after Mussolini destroyed them because they were scared of the fact that southern Italian workers were more sympathetic to the Italian Communist Party than bourgeoise Italian politicians who allowed southern Italian workers to be exploited by the US, Germany and North Italy (via mass emigration to work for peanuts)

so in a way yes. the bit about emigration is opinion, but them funding the mafia is fact

The idea that America ever had the moral high ground is ridiculous imo, why would america have funded people like the Taliban, Saddam Hussein, Ehud Olmert or Idi Amin if they were the 'benevolent dictatorship' Americans seem to see themselves as?

So, just to be clear, you are saying that the wages of a factory worker today is due to America stealing from Italy. I want you to be very clear.

So, the UK and USA are wealthy due to theft, yes or no?

Related, Koreans have a higher factory wage rate than the Thais. Koreans were colonized (stolen from) and the Thais not. Should your theory hold, the Koreans should be less wealthy. How do you explain this?

My understanding is that one of the reasones that Thais, same as Fillipinos, Indonesians etc have such terrible factory conditions because they are often employed (indirectly) by American companies who don't pay tax or contribute anything towards their workers welfare (because it's indirect) whereas Korea have a system where corporations are Korean national interests rather than Americans

This is my guess as to why there was so much rubbish that was 'Made in Korea' in the 80s before Korea was a wealthy nation, whereas now it is 'Made in Thailand' or 'Made in The Philipines' because they were still under a capitalist dictatorship like the Justice Party and the Republicans

and BTW Thailand was a British colony in all but name before England abandoned colonialism
