| Lots of reasons. I think ultimately, we arent built to last. There really isnt much of a need for a grandfather as there is for a grandmother. Grandmothers help a lot with taking care of grandkids. Men arent made to be nurturers, we are hunters, we get things. A 70 year old hunter though couldnt really hope to get anything. Therefore, we are expandable. |

I find the single life much more unhealthy as far as diet is concerned.
About the article, is it possible that the benefits of having someone who can cook healthy food out-doing the stress of marriage? |

I think jinju is onto something about men being more expendable. After all, there plenty of sperm donars to choose from, and a woman has only one egg (usually) at any time. Think about it, this is reflected in nature in countless ways; from the spider to the lion.
Women are designed to endure more. Few things are more painful than childbirth.
Men radiate more body heat than women; women's bodies are more effective in retaining heat for the internal organs, which is why many women have cold hands or feet. I recall from reading Stalingrad, that slight men and women had a better chance to survive the extreme cold and deprivation than the big, strong men.
Kermo; intersting article. I'd better starting drinking some wine, then.
So the more succesful women aren't as fit as women who do get married? Dunno about that one. |
